Actually, it was € 4.50. Even better!

There are so many choices in Rathmines one would be in danger of passing this one. You shouldn’t. As a previous Unilocal reviewer mentioned the BLT in here is brilliant at € 5.95. It also does ba breakfast menu(really nice) and small lunches. I think it’s not sure what theme it is trying to folow(music, posters, ambience, furniture etc) but the food makes it irrelevant, really. Worth a lunch … ask at the till for the free wifi password.

I stopped by here for a sandwich before going to the cinema. I went for the BLT, which when it arrived could only be described as «mega»! It was this huge triple decker with delicious bacon, tonnes of salad, relish and mayo. it also came with some lovely chips. I don’t know if this is just because I’ve gotten used to places who use a few chips as an excuse to whack the price of a sandwich up to a tenner, but I thought this was brilliant for the 6 euro I paid for it

Depending on your wallet situation, you could do worse than hitting the Rathmines Road for your breakfast fix. Village Café will do posh nosh(for a price). But there are some mornings when you feel a bit closer to the zombies in a Romero movie. You need fry-up, and you’ll shuffle aimlessly(possibly grumbling to yourself) until you find it. Fitzroy & Flinders* do a really solid breakfast for a great price. € 6.50 for a big breakfast with tea or coffee. There’s a nice«breakfast at home» feel to the place, although that might just be because of the old folks reading the paper in the table next to us. * that name just bugs me, it sounds like they should be selling suits, or the name of a 70s TV cop duo.

We were drawn into the restaurant by the advertisement of a 6.50 Euro brekkie and who could say no to that! You have the choice of a big brekkie with 2 sausages, 2 rashers, 2 hasbrowns, grilled tomato, egg, toast and coffee or tea or get the veggie option with mushrooms and spinach replacing the meaty parts. I quite enjpyed the veggie option and the coffee was delicious. The big breakfast looked very nice and it went down a treat with the boyfriend. The only complaint really(well, for him anyway), was the lack of beans. It is good value overall and I would certainly return.
