Ray’s Catch is a wonderful fish shop. The service and the fish are just great. I have just moved into the area in Rockbrook and I am so glad I have found it. The fish is so fresh and it is very well presented. The two guys that work in it are really good and very professional. This is every bit as good as Helen’s on the Coal Pier in Dunlaoghaire or Cavistons in Glasthule for Fish. It represents great value for money for product and service. So nice to see a specialist shop rather than the supermarkets. Unfortunately so many people now don’t know the difference between fresh/frozen and processed so they cannot equate value. When a business has a great product and service we should Support Irish Shops and Irish Jobs.

Opened in the past few months, Ray’s is a welcome addition to the small shopping strip in Ballyroan. In fact, I can’t think of another specialised fish shop anywhere within miles of here which is a shame. They have a great selection of really fresh fish(obv.), nothing weird, none of this Vietnamese rubbish the supermarkets are flogging for example. It is relatively expensive compared to the supermarkets but the quality, freshness and even the look of the fish is far superior in my view. Their fish cakes and crab cakes are excellent, every bit as good as Wrights of Howth, for example. Great place. Go there and keep it open.
