It may take you a 2 hours to drive here from Killarney but what a great little find. Literally tucked away on the corner of Valentia Island(If you take the bridge, car ferry port is close by). You work up a great hunger just taking in the awesome views as you drive along the barely passable roads on this very remote island. Knightstown Café is small but really awesome. The staff are extremely friendly locals and while we were there in off peak season i’m sure you would never have to wait too long. The menu is simple irish food. Get the WINGS! They were some of the best I have ever had, fresh chicken meat and hardly any fat. Also had the ham and cheese melt which was excellent. They have outdoor seating in front and back. Prices are really cheap considering there isn’t many options once you get to the island! I would surely go back!

We are spending time with family on Valentia and this is one of our almost daily stops. The atmosphere is quaint yet hip. The food delicious. The chocolate orange cake is sinfully good. I just had seafood chowder. So yummy and comforting. Loads of fish. The coffees are great. We have to try the Thailand or pizza next.

Great place, great atmosphere… The food is good, the garden is really cool… You can see that a lot of work goes into the garden as it is always well kept… The bookshop is worth a look around too after your lunch

great setting, beautiful village, plain, simple, but filling food. Second hand bookshop attached. Free wifi, and see a section of the trans-atlantic telegraph cable, the internet of the 1850s.
