Ya know, it’s not everyday that you review a railway station on Unilocal.However, sometimes you just wake up and know you should do something special today. Ya know, really get out of your comfort zone.
Here goes: centrally located station, electronic payment options, WiFi on the trains, clean, station worker available for info. They’re doing a good job here. If you’re reading this though, it’s a railway station, don’t really sure what you’re here to discover.

What else is there?
Well, there is the location in the center of town making it very easy to get in and out of Howth. There is a wonderful restaurant/pub directly below the station for good eats before or after your commute.
Picnic areas and a market, as well as public toilets in the area as well.
Walking distance from the marina, restaurants and the city center. Well done.

The entrance to the building is interesting, being up a flight of steps that lead to an old (slightly) updated building. They say it has been running for 150 years and, excepting the ticket machines, it doesn’t seem to have changed at all in that time. The interior is smaller than I imagined, and serves only to lead you onto the bare platform. No signage, no toilets, not even a trash bin. It is not convenient, but that is a function of the retention of the building’s modest historical value. Let’s say that is intentional, not lazy.
