A very charming Indian Restaurant, with fabulous décor. Absolutely charming if I’m honest. My eyes kept wandering around the premises, taking them all in. It even had a tribute poster to Brian O’Driscoll on the wall. Not something you see everyday in an Indian Restaurant. But I loved it. Food was good. And the wine very drinkable and good value. Service was good too. A family affair, with mum, dad and daughter at the front of house. Very nice to deal with. I definitely would return if I’m back in Galway.

My wife and I had the fixed price three course meal for $ 49. From the samosas to the chicken madras, everything was fantastic! Best meal we’ve had in Ireland. May try to revisit before we fly out in two days!

This is some absolutely delightful Pakistani food. Our host was so gracious and friendly, telling us stories about the region of Pakistan that his family is from. Not what you would assume. I really appreciated learning about his country. We had the Chicken Vindaloo(spicy), Chicken Jalfrezi(spicy) and Chicken Biryani. I was craving lots of spice and I certainly got it. Perfectly opened up my nasal passages and obtained a bit of perspiration on my forehead. That’s what I call success!

I had a takeaway from here after a long day working and travelling and by god, did it hit the spot. Service was super quick, took I think 15 minutes between calling and collecting and the place is really central so it’s handy for anyone near town. I’m boring with Indian food and always go for chicken balti and tend to judge the place on the quality of that alone. For that, this places gets a solid 5 stars. This balti was absolutely delish, the best if not joint best I’ve ever had. The pilau rice was perfect and a huge portion, this lasted me two meals. The stuffed Naan bread is a must, it’s totally game-changing for me– I’m a plain girl, usually, but was talked into it by my SO. Price wise it’s no worse than I’m used to but my local at home is an expensive one, so I don’t know if that means anything. It was thirty for two of us to stuff ourselves over two meals, so I think that’s pretty DAMN good value.

Very decent Indian restaurant this. As I walked in was delighted by the décor. Things to look at everywhere. The owners are super friendly and seemed to know most of the people in there by name. So not a tourist trap, I had fish pakoras for starters and a chicken special for a main. all really nice and good sizes as well. Price wise on the upper end I would say, but worth it. If your in Galway give it a try!

Great food and nice people! Balti(the Lamb) was great! The place is small but very well decorated. Price reasonable for the quality.

Let me tell you about last Saturday night. I was visiting Galway for the weekend and wanted to meet up with a few friends in the area. Texts were sent out on Friday: «Fancy a bit of food tomorrow?». 4 people respond and I book the table accordingly. I arrived and the waiter who we’ll call Captain Awesome greeted our modest group and indicated a table at the back of the restaurant. *Beep beep* «Eh, what restaurant are we meeting in?» is the message from someone who only thought of replying then and there. I said we were in Kumars and were seated. Next thing I know there’s 4 more people going«Ronan! How are you? Long time no see? Did they not have a big enough table?» Captain Awesome arrives stage left «Is everything ok?» I don’t know, Captain Awesome. It looks like our group of 5 is now 9. «Ronan! Are we too late?» ¬_¬ O_o X_x I’m so sorry, Captain Awesome… Next thing I know Captain Awesome organises a table for what is now a 12-person party. Embarrassed as hell I ordered food and so did everyone else(but in a slightly less embarrassed manner). THEFOODWASTHEEXCELLENTTHING! My Granny always says, «You know the food is good when the table is quiet». There we sat, each of us needing a moment alone with our meals. Anyone in Galway should know about this place, it’s amazing staff and their fantastic food. I’ll be back here as much as I possibly can! Although, I promise I’ll be more organised next time.

After a long day of Gaelic tradition on Inis Mor, Kumar’s Taste of India near the Spanish Gate was quite Lovely. The dishes and staff were all above par. Don’t miss this Galway must stop.
