A walk through these gardens — planned by Mary Reynolds — is a journey through the cycle of the year. Each garden represents one of the Celtic festivals Samhain(pronounced Sow-en), Imbolc(Im-ulk), Bealtaine(Belt-an-a) and Lughnasa(Loo-nasa), that marked the beginning of each season. This seasonal cycle also mirrors the cycle of life. The gardens reflect the landsape of the West of Ireland and are managed to encourage biodiversity. Birgit’s Gardens is a not-profit project and an educational charity. I enjoyed very much!
