A great service to the Aran Islands. I loved every minute of my Aer Arann experience. From the safety video, to seat assignment. From take off in mad rain, to landing over water, just about making the run way. Of course they made the run way, but it was an exciting ride. I would recommend paying that bit extra for flying out to the islands, if it’s an option for you. And in fairness to the staff, the booking was messed up from our side. We only copped it afterwards, realising they accommodated us without pointing out our mistake. Fair play to them. Then literally the week after our trip to the Inis Mór, I read about another company winning the bid of air transport to the Islands. I was so disappointed, for the staff and for the islanders. But there was a campaign and an extension of the Aer Arann contract. I really hope it works out for them. Highly recommended.

No real complaints here. I took Aer Arann for a day trip to Inishmoor, the largest of the Aran Islands. They have a nice shuttle bus that will pick you up outside Kinlay House in Galway at 8:00AM to take you the 45 minute drive to Connemara airport. The shuttle is free and can take you back in the afternoon as well, which is nice. My flight was a little delayed, but that was due to fog. However once we got going the flight was quick and smooth. The planes are tiny(seat about 9 people plus pilot) and they give you assigned seats based on your weight. The flight is only about 10 minutes and on a clear day you get some really beautiful views out the window of the plane. The only thing is that it is a little pricey compared to the ferries(€ 60 or so for round trip) but in my opinion its worth it, considering the flight takes 10 minutes and ferries can take an hour or more.
