I wish I’d had the opportunity to explore more eating possibilities in Galway since I have heard it has a burgeoning foodie scene. However, we popped in here for breakfast and it was average. It had the typical breakfast fare and I had it executed much better in other places. It’s large inside and just reminds me of a chain-type restaurant. Seek out a better breakfast option!

We had a really great meal here! Probably our favorite meal from our whole trip around Ireland. Everyone was more than satisfied with their meals. The pan fried chicken was perfectly cooked, the short ribs were delish, the Guinness stew was amazing(could have used a bit more meat though) and the tortellini were great. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area! Also, we had a fantastic server — I think her name was Lucy!

Read the reviews here and went with my wife when we were in Galway. When we went to the pub, there were only a few people having dinner only because it was late afternoon. We chose a nice small table in the back and had a quick meal and beers. I have to say that one of my favorite dishes is Guinness stew. This place had the best hands down. My wife had a stuffed tortellini which she said was awesome. Wait staff was very attentive.

This was hands down one of the best meals I had both times I was in Ireland. Get their Guinness stew. It’ll change your life. Ever since I’ve been trying to duplicate the recipe and just can’t get it right. Next time I’m in Ireland I’ll be going for sure.

Accomodated 20 plus of us on short notice. Excellent food and service! Rack of lamb and pan fried chicken breast seemed to be the favorites! Soups and salads were equally great! And pints of Guinness were spectacular as well!

Happened upon this place while touring the city. We were famished after a long drive and walking around the town. The sidewalk menu is what caught our eye first, then the comfy feel the moment you walk in. We each ordered from the lunch specials and we re not disappointed! My fish and chips were perfectly made and light, while my girlfriend’s open faced salmon sandwich was savory and filling. Highly recommend!

Purely based on the live music jazz band… AMAZING Band of ~10 ?? Plus two amazing singers! Can get crowded and warm. Large venue with many nooks and crannies to settle into and enjoy the music. There’s a back bar which is less crowded to order drinks then the front main bar.

Stopped in for a Guinness and a burger. The Guinness was fine. The burger, not so much. Waiter said not possible to cook medium-rare because it was ‘diced’ ?? So the meat part of the burger was not so hot, but the chips and onion rings were pretty good. Perhaps I should have ordered something more upscale.

Great gastropub slightly off the beaten path of forgettable three story pubs in Galway. Excellent mussels pulled directly from Galway Bay, smoked salmon, crab claws, burgers and other great food is served in a relaxed, convivial style. Less expensive and much better than the dross strewn about on the main drag.
