Yesterday evening i decided i wanted to try some chinese takeaway as i’d had a long day at the office so ventured a little distance away from my usual haunts. The Royal Plaza is up a stairs to where there is a swanky looking restaurant; which was empty except for people waiting for takeaways. They have a few offers of free beer with food, this I’ve not seen before regarding food, usually its prawn crackers or free rice. So it seemed to me they depend on getting people into the restaurant for both food and drink. I prefer not to wash Chinese food down with beer as my stomach is rather delicate! Anyway there was about 5 staff standing around waiting for the throngs to rush the place but they were pleasant enough. I ordered King prawn in hot garlic sauce and asked for no chillies in the sauce. The food was ready very very quickly, too quick in my opinion as it makes me think food is cooked well in advance and reheated rather than cooked to order. And when i got home lo and behold it was full of chillies. Why nod and say no problem we won’t put them in but then ignore your request? It just upsets the customer and makes them not want to go back! Just as well i gave the beer a miss!

Got a chicken curry delivered from here on Thursday night. The dish was cold & the curry sauce tasted like it was made from a tub of McDonnells curry powder. The rice was bland & the chips weren’t fresh. Waste of money

We’ve ordered take-away from here a few times, it’s not bad. Good value and they throw a few freebies when you spend over certain amounts. Never been in for a sit down, seems to attract a less than desireable crowd at the weekends,(can be seen smoking outside the front door) which is off putting.
