One of the best meals I ever had. I went as part of my 50th birthday celebration, been searching for months for memorable places and was not sure how Sika would fit. It was great. I started with braised pig’s head. I think they took some liberties with the name to get the curious types as it was more braised pork but very tender and flavorful. My main course was great: Challans duck breast, caramelised orange purée, cherries, pistachio crust, confit leg spring roll. The duck was prepared perfectly(medium rare) and was not at all gamey(the one issue I sometimes have with duck). The spring roll was also great. I was going to call the duck the highlight but so was the dessert. I had a Valhrona Chocolate Sphere(not a big chocolate person normally) and it was incredible. The chocolate sauce causes it to melt and just magnificent. They finish off the meal with petit fours, much more interesting than ones I’ve had at other restaurants. Service was professional and friendly. My only complaint was the cost of cocktails, we had two Kir Royales and they cost almost as much as a bottle of wine. Finally, one of the most pleasant surprises was the children’s meals. When I booked, I was not sure how my children(10 and 13) would enjoy a formal meal with a multi-course meal but it was my birthday so figured they could deal with it. Was very pleasantly surprised that they offered a 2 or 3 course meal for children, and my kids loved it. I think they also had quite a memorable experience.
