Strand Inn Hotel

Spectacular view with spectacular food :)
This cute little boutique style place is truly a hidden gem. We were directed to Strand Inn by our cab driver. He said it was some of the best food around and he was right. I enjoyed a wonderful filet and my mom had fish. Both dishes were plenty to get full on. The service was wonderful and you just can’t beat the view. They offer lots of outside seating and plenty of places to snap pictures.

Owned by the Foyle family, the Strand is one of the village’s most favoured haunts. There’s always a cordial welcome here, and the family rarely forget a face. Or a good story. You’ll likely find someone telling tales somewhere.
There’s a billards room to send the teenagers off to sulk in, a long bar with several nooks and one of the best restaurants in the village.
As with many good Irish restaurants, the food is warming and hearty, and they are noted for their seafood (my ex-​mother-​in-​law swears by their scallops).
Perched on the cliff between Dunmore East’s twin beaches of Councillor’s Strand and Lawlor’s Beach and in the heart of the village, it’s sea-​side beer garden is the best vantage point in which to watch village life «rush» by.
