James McCarthy is actually a wonderful Bronze sculptor and painter. I have visited Ireland 11 times in the 1990s and bought 7 of his paintings and a bronze statue from James. I consider him one of the finest artists in Ireland today. If you visit West Cork in Ireland be sure and go to Dunmanway and visit his studio on Market Square. Buy something because his work can only appreciate in value as he is a fine artist. I will post a couple of pictures of the works I purchased. He has a website:
