Sumo Sundays! It probably doesn’t get much better than that. You have two hours to eat as much sushi as you can possibly stomach for € 20. BARGAIN. I’m a sushi lover, so this tickles my fancy. I popped in on Sunday and took full advantage of Sumo Sunday. Needless to say, I was very full after. But I feel so satisfied! If you’ve never been to Yo! Sushi before, you really need to give this place a try. There’s a conveyor belt with countless plates(all colour-coded) of delicious, mouthwatering sushi. There are also vegetarian, chicken, omelete, beef and more options. The music, this time around, was much more relaxed than usual. They were playing Christmas songs(yay!) rather than the usual dance music they usually have playing. It was rather packed out — understandable, though. Everyone wants to get in on Sumo Sunday. The only reason I didn’t give the full 5 stars is because a few of my favourite dishes weren’t on the conveyor belt for Sumo Sunday — things like Pumpkin Korroke and Salmon Maki. If these made an appearance, 5 stars all round.

I adore Yo! Sushi. I have never had a bad experience in this particular store. Sometimes it can get busy and the food can be delayed, but that’s about it in terms of negatives for me. I always go for the € 10 deal and I bet tofu katsu curry, pumpkin korroke, and the tamago nigiri. I think for the price the food is, it’s a fair deal. If you order from the menu and don’t avail of the deals, you can get a 10% student discount!

Yo! Sushi is Just A-YO-K! It’s a sushi chain so you can’t really be expecting too much in fairness. What I do like is… The seating and décor. The staff. The novelty of a conveyor belt with dishes on it. The € 10 deal. The salmon sashimi. The salt and pepper squid. Being able to eat on your own without looking like a dzope. The rest is all very very average and the sushi is not particularly nice unless it’s deep fried and not fish, but grand if you want a quick bite to eat. The beer is very expensive in my opinion. There are far superior sushi places in this city such as Yamamori on the Quays and Musashi on Capel Street. BUT the salmon sashimi is one of the best I have ever tasted and I like the novelty of this place.

Very over priced, i could buy a whole salmon and make it myself for a fraction of their cost. I make sushi and sashimi, nigiri all the time myself and will never understand their over inflated prices.

There is only one good reason to go to Yo Sushi and that is the all you can eat«Super Sumo Sunday» deal that they run Sunday every week. € 20 for what ever you want off the belt. When I go here I feel like I have to gorge to get my moneys worth. So far my record is 22 plates. I had an almighty sushi hang over soon after but to be honest, it was worth it. Their sushi is not the best in town but if you are looking to gorge on several pounds of the stuff then here is where you need to be. What is available on the belt is limited on Sundays but you can get a good variety of things; plenty of maki and norimaki(including Dragon Rolls!!), lots of salmon and tuna nigiri, and sometimes you will even get some sashimi. That being said there is not a lot of variety if you are a vegetarian. There is perhaps about 4 dishes and they can be quite infrequent. They can also be very stingy with the ingredients. My girlfriend got some avocado maki that had practically no avocado in it. The avocado that was in it was brown and stringy. Although most of the staff seem to be really nice, I have frequently encountered staff members who were really rude. Last time we went, the floor manager straight up lied to us; my girlfriend asked if pumpkin karoke would be on the belt and he said that they never did this before. We have been here an number of times and have gotten the karoke on the belt. When we told him this he said he has worked there for a year and that it doesn’t go on the belt on Sundays. This was just plain weird to be honest. Why bother lying about this? Did he think we were trying to trick him into putting another dish on the belt or something? It was very odd. Also on our last visit we noticed that they no longer seem to make the sushi fresh. All the rolls were piled up in a container and the staff just take them out and cut them then arrange them on plates. I am pretty sure that previously I saw them making sushi fresh and putting it straight on the belt. With this new development I probably won’t be going back. Seeing everything sitting in the big containers like that has kind of ruined the magic for me.

Overly expensive and very mediocre food, which is a pity as it could be a fun place to go and eat with conveyor belt and all

Went in for Blue Monday where all dishes are € 3. Good value! But the fish did not seem the freshest, in the slightest and it was easy to tell(I’m not a sushi expert but this wasn’t up to scratch). Not to mention that afterwards I had a sickly pain in my stomach, something I’ve never experienced from sushi. Will be avoiding this place on mondays for the time being. Will update review if I find myself back here and it doesn’t make me feel sick.

Tasty dishes. I do agree the hot dishes from the menu always best the conveyor belt offerings, even if you can’t resist the novelty value the first few visits. I would avoid blue Monday in the future as I enjoy the choice of the ten euro offer(one blue, one orange and one purple plate plus a water or miso) and I experienced a lot of confusion with the waitress when attempting to order from the menu. Every other day of the week its a winner though!

This was my first visit and I think it’s gonna be my last, it was a Sunday so was all you can eat for twenty quid but they fail to mention that it’s a limited menu as the same dishes seem to go round and round. I’m not a big fan of sushi to begin with but knew they have other things on the menu so I was hoping I wouldn’t leave hungry, which I didn’t. It’s a cool little restaurant and the conveyer belt is a novelty but that doesn’t make up for the fact that the food isnt great. If I had been there and paid for each dish I’d be extremely annoyed. Also by going on Sunday I thought it would give me the opportunity to test dishes I wouldn’t normally eat but there’s a warning on the menu to say that you will be charge individually for any dishes not consumed so unfortunately I didnt get to experiment a little. Self service which is fine by me but even at that they were a little slow to bring drinks but I liked that we weren’t bother during our meal and we sat there for almost two hours. Not the most insightful review I know but my advice would be try somewhere else if your after a good meal but if it’s just to fuel up and catch up then this will suffice, lots of places like that so I’ll try one of them next time.

I am completely in love with this place! I used to go to this chain in London and I was very happy to find it here in Dublin! The only time you can find me there is on Sunday, I am on diet but I can’t resist to the all you can eat formula that they have! 20 € for EVERYTHING that is on the belt E V E R Y T H I N G !!! When you are watching the belt watch out for the firecracker rice, it’s amazing! Really recommended if you want to bring friends, but be aware that everyone has to choose the all you can eat, otherwise you can’t have all the food for 20 €!

Next time I’ll skip the promotions and the conveyor belt and order off the menu… as it’s hit and miss from the belt. Cool atmosphere and space but sushi quality could be improved — the brighter the plate the better the options! (Note: Brown Thomas employees get a 25% discount :)

Sizes of the portions a a joke. We spent € 20 and did not feel like we ate anything. In fact half of the stuff on the conveyer belt does not look that special at all.

If there’s one word I can use to describe this restaurant, it’s «rip-off!»! It’s so expensive! I’ve been to many of these conveyor sushi restaurants in Japan and other countries and I must say, I have never paid this much. I had a birthday voucher offering 30% off on up to 10 plates, so I had 8 plates and ended up paying 25 euro… without that discount I would have paid 35 euro… for just 8 plates?!? I usually paid about 10 – 15 euro at these conveyor sushi places for much more(fresher and tastier) sushi, but Yo Sushi is charging gourmet sushi prices for what is no where close to gourmet sushi. The tuna isn’t even fresh. And the one euro for tap water?! Not coming here again.

I had the € 20 all you can eat from the conveyor belt option. Disappointed — salmon was fresh and delicious but everything else felt rice/starch/soy sauce with little individual flavour. It was good value and I was stuffed but for me — not special enough. My friend wasn’t inspired by his food either and they gave him a reduction. Staff were very helpful and friendly and maybe we just didn’t order the right things…

I went here for lunch. 10e for chicken teriyaki, salmon nigiri and prawn nigiri with green tea. Great meal, very nice atmosphere, quick service. The nigiri was delicious. I would recommend it to anyone looking to try sushi.

… Man … Woman… Child… If you haven’t put ONE foot! In Yo… Re-consider… What have you done with your life? Yes… Don’t be so hard on yourself. Yo Sushi is not a traditional sushi bar, but that doesn’t take any beauty on the taste. In fact I like the has not this fishy flavour. Salmon is always so fresh(in all my experiences). They offer now and it has quite a while«The Yo Burger» i thought it was a kind of an insult when I heard about it but one day I dared to try. I love it! Is not bread is crispy rice the burger is salmon or prawn or other… It comes with a nice sauce and crackers(like prawn cracker but these I think are mixed with seaweed flavour). My other favourite is the Ramen! Salmon teriyaki! The aubergine, the seaweed salad, SALMONANDAVOCADOHANDROLL! The veggie hand roll… «What I don’t recommend is the yakisoba… Mmm well no one is perfect…» –There are options for people don’t like sushi– Is very smartly design for everyone.(In my opinion) Try Blue monday very good deal or Sunday Munch… See ya all there!

I’m a fan of their Blue Mondays, where each dish is e3. OK, it’s a converyor belt and not an «authentic» sushi experience, but I really like it and pop in often. I enjoy watching the sushi pass me by and trying to gauge is someone in front of me is going to grab it before I do, chop stick in hand like a spear… I love a bit of competition! If there’s something you fancy from the menu but can’t see it, you can order it, so you’re not limited to what’s on the belt at a given time. The staff are friendly and helpful and the prices are pretty reasonable(each dish is a different colour and each colour is a different price). The only downside for me is that they charge for tap water, ok, just one euro, but still.

If you are a sushi novice and are a bit scared by the whole thing this is a great place to start. The conveyor belt is fun and you can see what you are getting before you choose. The all you can eat is great value on a Sunday. So the sushi isn’t fantastic ! If you are a sushi conosaur you will probably be a bit disapiointed with the selection. They have some great dishes that normally are not on the belt like beef tataki which is one of my favourite dishes anywhere !

How does it feel To treat me like you do When you’ve laid laid your hands upon me And told me who you are… Dadadadaaadadadaaa… Blue Monday, New Order, most favourite of all favourite tunes. Am I happy that I now associate Blue Monday with Yo! Sushi?! Well, no! But that doesn’t mean to say that I’m not all over it like a rash when it comes to the day itself! Here’s the thing; the food is grand. It’s nice enough, there’s a good selection, the stuff you get made fresh for you is always a bit better. The hot dishes like the Firecracker Chicken are lovely, and if you’re there on Blue Monday(dadadadaaaa.), it’s only € 3 a plate, so great value. It’s easy, it’s cheap, it’s convenient, and it’s tasty. And, I kinda like the conveyor belt experience. So wha! (Paying a euro each for tap water does get at me though! A euro! For tap water! Whyyyy!) Another place that does what it says on the tin. No more, no less. See ya there!
