Don’t you love been treated to food? I love it! Doesn’t happen enough — hint, hint, all donations can be made payable to ‘Care Of Hungry Unilocaler Annie L’. To start I had the crayfish that was encased in breaded mixture, absolutely fantastic. For mains I had pan-fried sea-trout in a pesto sauce and served in a bed of grilled potatoes, again fantastic, maybe a bit salty but delicious all the same. Carafe of Sancerre which was not chilled enough. Service was fantastic, fun and jovial. Good lunch menu, but I can’t remember the exact price as I wasn’t paying!

With a specials board that changes daily and a decent selection of wines by the bottle, there’s a little but of everything in Wolfe’s Café. As a more grown up alternative to Party Cake next door, Wolfe’s serves from a safe but mature menu of sandwiches, soups(mmm, sweet potato) and complicated but tasty-looking salads. For visitors staying locally there’s also a breakfast menu with a slightly pared-down Irish breakfast for € 5.50(don’t worry, the big honker with puddings and beans is here too). On the shelves and in the kitchen the ingredients are top notch… think posh water, organic juices and as many locally-grown ingredients as possible in those menu offerings. There’s plenty to take home as well, and the wines mentioned on the shop front are well represented with selections from most well known New and Old World regions.
