Despite every shred of common sense begging me not to get food from a Chinese restaurant that has a pun in its name, alas! — I went ahead and did it anyway. My friend and I ordered from Wok On Inn for delivery. The spare ribs smelled like raw meat that had been sitting around for about a week. We ordered two big boxes, with spare ribs which remained untouched(with the lid on, the smell was too much to bare), prawn crackers and soft drinks. In my ‘big box’ I got chicken balls which were ok but I could only eat 1.5, the driest noodles of all time, chicken wings and thai green curry with shrivelled lumps of tofu I actually mistook for a misplaced dehydrated chip. The prepackaged diet coke and prawn crackers(which are extremely hard to mess up, let’s be real) were the stars/only consumable parts of the meal. Would not recommend.

This place is conveniently located near the IFSC and opposite Connolly Station. They have the usual range of grab n’ go Chinese food available in the hot counter(black bean etc) but they also have quite an extensive menu to order takeout from with Chinese, Korean and Japanese. I’ve had the salt chilli prawns for € 7.00 and got 8 fat juicy well cooked prawns and fried rice, unfortunately not much sauce but what was there was tasty. Sushi is available although I haven’t tried it — I usually go for their daily noodle special, for € 5 it can’t be beat! Big portion sizes and plenty of sauce meat and fresh veg. My favourite is the Malay noodle which has a great peanut and coconut flavour, and I would say the Japanese Udon is my least fave, this one had a sweet soy sauce, but don’t get me wrong, it’s still ok. Korean noodle had a ton of Kimchi on top — be warned its super spicy! All in all for what it is this place is very handy and doesn’t disappoint. It’s not grade a quality grub bug for a fiver a pop I don’t think it can be faulted. The rest of the menu is also very reasonably priced with good portion sizes.

Handy location right across the road from Connolly station so is useful if you need to catch a bite to eat before you get on your train or if you live in the central Dublin 1 or 3 area. Noodles are cost effective at 5euro per portion but In my opinion they are nothing special. I’d normally only order here if I was famished while leaving the city centre. On a couple of occasions I ordered the noodles while requesting non-spicy and what do I get?, ‘Burn the mouth off ya spicy noodles’. Now I do love spicy food but I also like a break from it at times. They also have other Chinese-inspired foods available, again they’re okay but wouldn’t blow your mind. It also seems like the pre-prepared food has been basting under the heat for too long.
