Well Bajram, the manager, did just that to me. I’m a bit of lightweight when it comes to sampling cherry flavoured grappa followed by spicy mango rum.

We are doing a € 50 limit for Chris Kindle this year due to everyone being broke, yet again thank you corrupt government.
I got the bro but I still feel like I needed a gift for the folks. I love to bring stuff to them, namely booze cause they appreciate that. I also love to get them stuff that will have them saying,
«What in God’s name is that concoction you are making us drink? You and your feckin worldly tastes — next thing you’ll be having us eat monkey’s testicles.»
«Mam!»
So I got the Brazilian drink Caipirinha. In Vom Fass you get to pick the bottle, from shoe shaped to classic square shaped. Bajram filled it full of the glowing green liqueur. They also write a personalised message on it and you can use the same bottle next time. I love it.
Can’t wait to see the faces on the folks when I unveil this bad boy.

Oh dear. This place is going to be my down fall. I can feel it in my liver.
The first time I bought something from here was for a friends house warming and I did the cruel cruel thing of picking something that I knew my friend wouldn’t like… but I would. Cherry liqueur with Grappa. Bliss in a bottle. However before I’d chosen my exact poison I was allowed to sample various different types of spirits and liqueurs that they keep stored away in great big glass vats. This place really is a candy shop for adults!
Now you can’t believe my excitement when I walked past this in Dublin one day as previously I’d only seen this store in the UK. Yes my friend was unwillingly dragged inside with me. Yes we did sample some alcohol and yes we did buy a few bottles. Unfortunately however the alcohol did not survive the night as there was an terrible collision with it and my mouth.
Now the other lure to Vom Fass, apart from the assortment of alcohol and oils which is itself enough to make me go weak at the knees, you can pick what specific bottle you want your little liquid joy to go into and then, have a note written on it.
This shop is great for a little present for a friend or family member if you’re stuck for a present. Or simply do what I did, buy a specific flavor that your friend doesn’t like, give it to them and then smile graciously as they guiltily hand it back to you as they can’t bare to drink the one flavor they can’t tolerate… I’m a horrible friend ain’t I?!

I was planning on saying that once this diet is over, I’ll be in Vom Fass tute suite. Actually, I can head over there now… olive oil and vinegar is allowed.
Specialising in bottled booze, dressing and olive oils right from the casks, Vom Fass has a great range of delicious gourmet liquids that look amazing in those speciality bottles. All right, the bottles can be a bit hokey (but I’m getting you a bottle of EVOO bottled in the form of a naked man’s torso, happy birthday), but it only adds to the fun of heading in to draw your own vintage right in store.
On my first visit in the staff was chatting away with some gift-​hunting customers, even then I still got a smile and a hello!

‘Vom Fass’ means essentially from the cask. And that is exactly what this wee shop does, selling wines, spirits and oils straight from the cask.
The shop is nice, bright and clean and even though the concept sounds a bit strange, because you can’t really seen most of the products, the staff are super-​friendly and will show you the products. The shop specialises in high-​quality oils and vinegars, as well as wines and spirits from around the world, sadly they seem to leave out Irish Whiskey though. Anyways, this shop is worth a look if you like special oils and wines or even if you just want to have a look around and try a thing or two.
