Me encantó!

Possibly one of the most important stores in Dublin’s recent history! This place is a mecca for retro gamers and record collectors/appreciators. I couldn’t believe it when I walked in the first time and saw rare old N64 titles on the wall like Banjo Tooie, Pokemon Stadium 2, Paper Mario and even Conker’s Bad Fur Day. Some of these titles can be a bit pricey(over a hundred euro in some cases) but finding them online can be quite difficult and will usually be extortionate in price too. The record collection is strong and eclectic. It’s all killer and no filler. There isn’t that much space in the shop so they use it wisely by only getting the best albums by artists like Blur, Cat Stevens, Marvin Gaye, Elliott Smith, Rolling Stones etc. Top albums by Top Artists basically. They occasionally have package deals, sales and competitions hosted on their incredibly active and popular facebook page.

The reviewer who says this place is like a time machine isn’t wrong — with old game consoles lining the walls, rows and rows of cartridges and an arcade machine by the door, you’ll be in old-school geek heaven. We stumbled upon here thanks to the check-in deal they have(«One free surprise!» which I’m still not sure what it was as wasn’t connected to the net when we were in the shop!) and Graeme disappeared into the display of vinyl along the left hand side of the shop. Not before I grabbed 50c off him so I could play the arcade machine — it appears though I have played frogger many a time before, I never actually managed to get to the other side as I just discovered that frogger is meant to go in the gaps, not on the grass. While I wasn’t up for buying anything, I did have a wee browse through the games and they had a great selection and probably could track down stuff if you were looking for something specific. The guys were pretty welcoming, and it was a good way to pass 10 minutes or so while in the area. I love the concept of the shop, and from how busy it was on a Thursday afternoon, they seem to be doing alright for themselves.

I’ve only recently realised that a place like this existed. Such a pity that it’s not closer to town but nevertheless, the contents of this store, seriously justify the trip! It’s like stepping into somewhat of a time machine. All of your old childhood memories suddenly decide to come rushing back, the days spent playing Super Mario, Double Dragon & Street Fighter. Decades of consoles, buckets of games, and I haven’t even mentioned the vinyl section downstairs! The guys who run this place seriously like what they’re doing, and you can tell. They’re trying to keep«that» world alive, and full credit to them! It’s a shop everybody needs to go to at some point in their lives. It’ll provide education for the young, and nostalgia for the, well, not so young. If you are part of the latter group, go and re-absorb your childhood!

Great store with some good records and good retro games and consoles. They also have an arcade machine in the shop which is good fun.

Love these guys. Great games, good attitude, one of the few record shops left in Dublin.

A purchased a CD from this store. The CD was a local band because they have a really cool tub in the front selling local music which I thought was great. The guy at the cash register was really friendly.
