This place serves a nice cappuccino. The atmosphere is relaxed, with lots of space to work away on a laptop or do a bit of study. There’s WiFi as well.

Love love love this place! They have the best sausages! Brown soda bread is nice toasted with loads of butter. Brownie is the best i ever had. (Believe me, i know a good brownie!) Thanks Annie for always looking after us every time we come in.

Hmmm, it certainly has the potential for an extra star but not quite there yet! Got a salad bowl, at € 10 it’s certainly on the pricey side for what you get, and the waitress never brought the bread for the side. I didn’t want it but it’s a poor showing especially due onthe price point. It’s more than a few of the local places for most menu items, but tasty enough. They also have a book swap wall, which appeals to the bookworm in me. Ill give it another chance, but wouldn’t be pushed to try it more than that, especially when you’re so close to rathmines…

This newly opening café/restaurant recently caught my eye. The interior is lovely and rustic, with a really old world charm — old fashioned seats, net curtains on the windows, raw brick walls on the inside. It’s nice and a far cry from the madness on the street just outside. Speaking of outside, they have a really nice and bright outdoor area at the back, quite big too. The menu is really varied and quite adventurous for a newly opening venue, not to mention delicious. We headed straight for the brunch menu. I ordered the black pudding and pan fried chorizo salad and my other parties order eggs Benedict. Mine was monstrous and really delicious — the salad dressing had a great kick to it, not sure what it was though! The eggs Benedict went down a treat, but extra hollandaise sauce had to be ordered which was no problem at all to the waitress. I will be back here to try many other items on the menu — pancakes look good — the table next to us ordered them, and although we were busy stuffing our faces with our food, we got total food envy!!! Not too pricey a joint either, which is always a plus. Kids and prams are welcome too, and the colouring books are a great distraction — for me of course! Brunch is currently only served on Saturdays and Sundays if that’s your thing, but that’s when you want to take it easy so it works for me. Great for European/American cuisine heads, coffee on the go heads, and my Granny used to have a cabinet and net curtains like that in her house heads!
