The Bank on College Green

We visited Bank on Saturday night after a gig. I had a prosecco & himself had a beer.
Service was good.
The venue is beautiful and would be perfect for a party or gathering. If you head down stairs to the washrooms you’ll see the old vault doors along with cool old Photos of the location 100+ years ago.
I would return.

The Bank on College Green détonne par son accueil aux petits soins, ses barmen élégants, sa musique branchée et sa déco atypique. Ici, nous sommes dans une ancienne banque aux inspirations baroque et renaissance !
La carte des boissons est variée et la carte des plats change constamment (gastronomie typiquement irlandaise). Avec mon copain, nous nous sommes régalés de l’apéro jusqu’au repas !
Comptez environ 40 € pour 2 pour un apéro et un dîner, ce qui tout à fait correct quand on voit le cadre dans lequel on se trouve.

My husband and I went here for dinner when we were on vacation in Ireland and we loved it! We sat up top where only a few tables were and had the sweetest waitress. The food was fabulous and the cocktails delicious! I would definitely recommend for a fun dinner out with friends or a date night if you are visiting Dublin

God really disappointed with food tonight, normally love food but not tonight
Starters — goats cheese not melted not good, should be toasted !
Pâté a disaster, one most horrible Pâté I ever tasted should be removed from menu .
Really feel the food is gone downhill and needs improvement, not great and lots competition which do amazing food .
Service good.

Caprese salad: great, fresh, everything one expects in a Caprese.
Wild Irish Wood Pigeon: My husband and I were intrigued, so we ordered it. Who knew pigeon could taste so good? It was a mix of duck & quail, cooked medium (i.e. juicy & red) and absolutely delicious!
Fresh Seafood Platter for 2: Amazing presentation. I appreciated that there were even numbers of every item on the plate, perfect for sharing (you’d be surprised how often this doesn’t happen). We couldn’t finish it all, but enjoyed everything we could put down.
No room for dessert, but after such an elaborate seafood presentation, who needs dessert? =P

I came here once with my mom and again with a friend, both times were a Saturday around lunch time. This time it was a few days before Christmas so the place was packed but we managed to get a seat as we came a bit ahead of the usual lunch time, but even then almost all the seats were full and people started to queue. The interior was so pretty and posh, and the Christmas decorations were fantastic! It’s also very spacious inside with a bar area, tables seating as well as sofas, and it was pretty lively too with a nice piano playing in the background.
The food was excellent! I had the Superfood Salad with chicken, and the chicken was freshly grilled chicken breasts as opposed to the usual ready made roast chicken thats usually served in other cafes which was really tasty. My friend ordered fresh oysters which said were amazing as it’s not easy to find a restaurant that serves good oysters in Dublin, and the cheese soup which she also liked. I thought that the presentation, quality and taste of the food was very high yet the prices were very reasonable. Each dish was between € 9 – 14 which I though was pretty good for such a posh looking place and such gourmet style food!
The staff were all very friendly, the service was very quick and efficient despite it being such a busy time of the year and overall, I have no complaints to write about. The Bank would easily be in my top 10 list of places to do lunch in Dublin!

What a restaurant ! It’s amazing! The food is to die for! Had the butternut risotto and it was to perfect! Best one I’ve had in Dublin ever! The staff are so friendly and helpful! Very dressy, but it’s a must go to in Dublin!

Found this place via online of places to try in Dublin.
Ordered the seafood chowder and seafood linguine. Both were very tasty. Plenty of salmon, clams in the pasta but very little amount of shrimp in comparison. The service was awesome. Cannot remember her name but she’s a French gal that works upstairs. Very friendly and showed us a few places we should visit while we are here.
Atmosphere is amazing here. I would recommend just to stop by for a meal here!

First of all it is one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve been too! It used to be a bank, a very fancy bank. Ireland and Canada like taking grandiose, old banks and turning them into restaurants. Many of the customers could not resist taking pictures of the place especially the ceiling. It is worth a visit just to see the place.
They also have an impressive selection of beers. Craft beer is getting popular in Ireland and the ones I’ve tried are very good. They also have other types of alcohol if you don’t care for beer.
I wish I would have been starving because their menu had many good selections. I did try the seafood chowder which was excellent, the sausages, also very good and the excellent chicken dish which was very tender and juicy.
Service was very good here too. Our server gave me great suggestions on the beer.
This is a place I will certainly return to on my next visit to Dublin.

This place is beautiful. Its got an elegant look without crazy high prices. When you first walk in, you may get that feeling like this is going to be expensive, but you will totally be pleasantly surprised by the prices.
Theres an upstairs area that overlooks the entire restaurant. Thats where we sat. The ceiling has beautiful art work on it. The food was displayed on our plates nicely. It was the best meal I remember having in Dublin.
We came in after our walking tour because its very close to the college where the tour ended. We were dressed in our winter clothes, all bundled up but never once felt unwelcome. Our server was kind and welcoming. Theres a beautiful bar and piano on the bottom level too.

Bank on College Green — Herrliches Gebäude mitten in der Stadt, das eine herrliche Stimmung ausstrahlt. Der Pub ist direkt in der Mitte der Stadt — gegenüber des Parlaments und genau da, wo die ursprüngliche erste Wikingersiedlung stand. Früher war dies eine Bankhalle und das, was man jetzt hier sieht ist das Beste, was man so aus einer Bank machen konnte. Der wunderbar bunte viktorianische Stil mit buntem und hellem Interieur entspricht so gar nicht dem Bild eines irischen Pubs. So auch nicht die Pianospielerin, die bereits mittags die Barklassiker trällert, die einem so ein nett wehmütig fernwehes Gefühl in den Bauch zimmern. Die Getränke, die es aber gibt, die sind dieselben, wie in den anderen Pubs. Ich esse dazu eine Seafood Chowder aus der Dublin Bay (also die Fische kommen daher, die Chowder aus Le Chef´s Topf). Sehr reichhaltig, sehr lecker. Service ist flott, Preise moderat, Stimmung cool. Ein Muss in Dublin.

Zusammen mit The Church das außergewöhnlichste Pub in Dublin, allerdings ist das Guinness um Klassen besser und auch das Essen ist durchaus zu empfehlen.

Die Fischsuppe mit dem Borwnbraed war sehr gut. Die Preise sind für Dublin normal.
Im Keller befinden sich noch die ehemaligen Tresorräume

Ehemals Bar des Jahres und alleine schon durch die Architektur sehr beeindruckend. Auswahl und Klasse der Speisen und Getränke können mit der Optik mithalten und jenseits der Touristenströme bietet die Bar excellenten Service und tolle Getränke.

Wenn man das erste Mal die Bank betritt kommt man aus dem Staunen nicht mehr heraus. In diesem Gebäude befand sich wirklich mal eine Bank (ein Geldautomat und durchlaufende Aktienindizes erinnern u.a. noch daran) und es wurde im viktorianischen Stil erbaut. Das Essen ist großartig und auch das Guinness schmeckt hier lecker. Hier trifft man vor allem auf Businessleute oder solche, die es gerne sein möchten. :o) Der dresscode ist daher eher schick, aber es ist trotzdem total gemütlich und es herrscht eine entspannte Atmosphäre.

What a fabulous spot — the interior is just amazing. I think the bar is located where the main banking hall actually was. Beautiful stain glass ceiling, chandeliers, really detailed plasterwork etc. There’s also a heritage tour — check out the replica Book of Kells, the busts of the signatories to the 1916 Proclamation before going down into the basement (Where the bathrooms are) to check out the Chatwoods’ Safes.
I am actually ashamed to say that this was my first ever visit here. It is a Gastropub with what looks like a fantastic menu served in a really nice atmosphere.
We only had drinks here though as we had a reservation for The Pigs Ear on Nassau Street. The live piano was just starting up as we left…
Will definitely be back for food!
