As a native Californian I am pick as hell when it comes to my Mexican food. This place is one of the better Mexican places I have had in Europe, hell maybe even west of the Mississippi. Spicy, cheesy, lovely. It is a little way off from my house, but always worth the trip when I am craving a taste of home. I try to make it down here every few weeks or so. I have to admit though, it has been a while since I have had real Mexican, so I’ll review it again after I get home from a Holiday visit to the states.

Had a great deal through and went to try the burritos with a friend. Thanks to my experience with the tacos I wasn’t optimistic but thought I’d give them a try. Even though their name is Taco Taco, maybe their strength is burritos? Well, I was right. Total disaster. Veggie burrito was mostly yellow, flavorless rice. That was filled out with limp, soggy lettuce. The lettuce did it’s magic and made the whole burrito into a sopping mess that fell apart about halfway through eating it. The beans were bland. The salsa was extra nasty and made with mostly canned ingredients. Oh and did I mention the giant slices of undercooked onion that permeated the whole thing? Sick.

This is the closest to authentic Mexican burritos I’ve had in Dublin(and the closest to authentic I’ve had are the ones I’ve had in California — not Taco Bell but off a side-street stall in San Diego) I wonder what the rest of the menu tastes like because I haven’t ventured further from the vegetarian burrito, which I get every time packed to the brim, with a perfect mix of yellow rice, beans and vegetables, it’s truly filling and tasty. I’ve also had the enchiladas which come piping hot and oozing with cheese. I have tried most Mexican restaurants/bars and so far this comes up trumps and then Burritos n Blues(Yet to try Little Ass Burrito)

I pray that the Holy Virgin of Guadalupe smites this place with the complete power and wrath of God. Seriously. I’m not even Mexican and after going there I felt embarrassed for all Mexicans everywhere. Disgusting.

Unilocalers, you know me. I’m a burritoholic and an optimist. So when I tell you I threw away my Taco Taco burrito half-eaten, you know it’s bad. If I could go back there right now, I would implore the masses, «Go to Boojum! It’s two steps away!» But I really see no reason to return to that hole of chaos. Last year, Taco Taco’s chicken burrito made it into The Dubliner’s Top 50. The article’s proudly displayed on their counter. So I figured a grilled chicken burrito must be even better. The menu states that all the burritos are € 5.95, but prices have increased to € 7– and there’s not a word about that anywhere in the two huge menu boards. Big downer. I assume other prices have risen as well. They packed my to-go burrito in paper, in a paper bag which leaked in my backpack. I peeled off the sopping white paper and the first taste I got was wilted lettuce. That was the strongest taste in the whole burrito. The chicken was tough with a brittle, tandoori-coloured exterior and didn’t taste like grilling(let alone tandoori!). The rice was a nuclear yellow. And the poor servers who had heaped it on were working like the fires of Hell were at their tails. That always leaves a huge gap for problems. On the other hand, the nachos looked fun, loaded with toppings, and were going like hotcakes, so TT earns a star for optimism’s sake. If I have to go back, I’ll try those or a sincronizada(a tortilla sandwich-like meal). Nothing with lettuce, though!

I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. I would go back, primarily to try the chicken burrito I ordered(I was served beef). The beef didn’t have the authentic flavor I’m used to from real Mexican restaurants, but the seasoned rice and salsa and jalapeño filling was nice. The tortilla was toasted.

A great place for Mexican food near O’Connell Street. I personally love the food here and try to visit at least once a week to satisfy any Mexican cravings. Price-wise, it can’t be beat. Most things like tacos and enchiladas come two in an order, which makes it even more brilliant. If you’re in the mood for some Mexican and don’t want to pay a fortune at a fancy sit down kinda restaurant — check these lads out sure!

Before Boojum and Pablo Picante, this place was probably the best Mexican food you could find in Dublin. As a result, I’d end up there every so often when I couldn’t control my burrito craving any longer. All that has changed now and I don’t think they’ve upped their game in response to the competition. I don’t even remember the last time I was there since real Mexican food has appeared in Dublin.

I don’t know where all the good reviews of this place are coming from. The burritos here are woeful. Avoid!

I believe in burritos, a bit like Big Foot, real ones do exist somewhere. Taco Taco is not as good as a small Mexican run, Spanish speaking, restaurant somewhere in southern California. Or, heaven forbid, Mexico itself(much nicer, no matter what anyone says). In fact, burrito bars are a bit like Irish pubs. They’re the same almost everywhere in the world except Mexico itself. So real burritos are about as rare as proper Guinness, outside of their respective homelands. And in that context, I suppose, Taco Taco make a decent burrito. I really enjoyed the two I had. Yes, I went twice before writing this review. They were nice for someone, like me, who hasn’t even smelled a decent burrito in ages. But nothing spectacular. And they weren’t hot enough. Proper Mexican, like proper Indian, should have you sweating bullets, eyes white and spitting steam. Taco Taco’s Chorizo Burrito didn’t even register on my plain Paddy tongue. And I really do have a plain paddy tongue, as a child I couldn’t even eat silvermints. It was all a bit disappointing to be honest. Still, the best burritos I’ve had in Ireland. But I’m yet to trek to Boojum so, going by other peoples reviews, that’ll probably change soon enough.

Unfortunately Shane K has already summed up my feelings about this place, be it far more eloquently and without as many spelling mistakes(I was so tempted to misspell ‘mistakes’). All I can add is that after years of custom, I have never been disappointed. I would like to add beef burrito, beef burrito and beef burrito. It’ll sort you for the day.

It’s quite tough to find Mexican restaurants in Dublin so imagine my delight a number of years ago when I discovered this authentic little gem. Nestled in between some of my favourite daytime haunts in the city and serving up the yummiest Mexican cuisine this side of the Gulf Stream it is always an adventure to eat at Taco Taco. The staff themselves seem to sense my childlike glee everytime I treat myself to their superb nacho platter and always have a smile on their faces. As well as that they sell Dr Pepper! One of these days I will buy some of the genuine Mexican ingredients they sell for making your own meals at home. A fully stocked display boasts everything you could need to replicate their menu in your own kitchen. However for now I’ll be content with sampling their culinary skill. I’ve never had the guts to ask are the employees actually Mexican much like Thai restaurants that have mostly Chinese cooks and wait staff. The prices are very reasonable and the food is always made to order with a multitude of options to suit every taste. Highly recommended!

Taco Taco offers up big fat filling burritos, stuffed with rice, refried beans, guacamole, salsa and a choice of meat, should you so desire. The enchiladas are good too, with two wraps placed one on top of the other, filled with guacamole, salsa, refried beans, and choice of meat, should you so desire. The fajitas consist of two wraps placed side by side, filled with guacamole, salsa, refried beans, and choice of meat, should you so desire… You get the picture. Why is Mexican food anywhere outside of Mexico like this? All the same fillings inside a flour tortilla, just wrapped a different way? Any of the above options make a decent lunch, but it’s not mind-blowing stuff.

TacoTaco in the Epicurean Food Hall may not immediately strike you as a culinary epicentre but don’t walk on by. Young, moody, attractive staff cook up all the usual Mexican favourites — I recommend the beef burrito, fatly packed with rice, beef, salsa and whatever other magic ingredients they include to make it taste so delightful. The Food Hall’s communal seating area in the middle means that you can scarf it down with your Balti-loving mate. However, if you go at lunchtime you may have to go to the mattresses to find a seat and clean up the encrusted table yourself.

Taco Taco is one of the many miniature restaurants that occupy the Epicurean food hall. Mexican food is without doubt my favourite kind of food, and as a result I’m a bit of a Mexican elitist. So it would be pretty difficult for Taco Taco to impress me. And it didn’t. I mean, it was grand, but I expected a lot more. I’ve gotten a few burritos/tacos here and they do the trick, but no wow factor. It’s a pity. It’s really fun to say the name.

Taco Taco is actually my favourite place for Mexican. This food stand in the Epicurean sells, in my opinion, the most authentic burritos, tacos and nachos. It even offers corn tortillas! Plus, it sells tons of ingredients so you make Mexican at home. There are cans of jalapenos, bags of nacho tortillas and bottles of hot sauce. Because the food is great, I can tolerate the fact that it’s served on a paper plate with plastic cutlery. I also don’t mind that their chaotic ordering system(numbered receipts). The one thing that can be annoying is that you have to wait around for a free table. This food stand is definitely the most popular in the food hall.

Back to the Epircurean for lunch I went, it’s quite handy when north of the river and feeling indecisive. I’ve been getting food from Taco Taco for a few years now and its still good stuff. Taco, Taco does a wide range of yes you guessed it, Mexican food. Tacos, nacho’s, fajitas, quesadillas, enchilada’s and my own personal favourite the burrito. Packed with chiken, beef, chorizo or veg the burrito is basically a meal in a wrap, with veg, rice, cheese and refriend beans all parceled up in a tortilla. The portions are huge and they currently have a lunch deal for € 6 with a drink. As it’s a kiosk operation taco, taco is proably a good bet mainly for lunch and a light or early dinner or snack. The Epicurean is I feel getting a bit greasy of late and lost a little of its earlier novelty. It has seating for 130. If you just can’t walk the extra 50 feet down to Burdocks then they have CHIPS with salsa this time, giving it a Mexican twist.

I love Mexican but it can be quite expensive so it was nice to fall upon this place. Visited the place with couple of freinds, we ordered a veggie burrito and a veggie taco with nachos on the side. The food was really lovely and felt a lot more authentic than the expensive Mexican restaurants I had eaten in. Obviously, the whole place has more of a fast food lunch time ambience than a restaurant, but would highly recommend for a cheap delicious lunch. Great food, great value, great service and from my experiance the most authentic Mexican place in dublin.
