Subway

Today I tried for the first time this business. They open from 7:00 am so it is really handy to get here before work.
I wanted to try their coffee deal: a cappuccino at 1.20 and you get a free cookie. To be honest this offer wasn’t really clear to me when I read it on the store front window, so I had to go inside and check on what it was about.
Inside there are suffice spaces to seat. The counter is placed along the corridor and not horizontal like, let’s say a fish and chips, when you enter and you see the counter in front of you. It was early in the morning and I was the only customer so not sure on how the queue is working.
Hot beverages, such as cappuccino or coffee are made from a «press one button» machine, meaning that it is not the same as in a proper coffee shop, but, you go here mostly for a sandwich or sub, not particularly for a fresh ground coffee. However for the price I paid the cappuccino is decent and fair enough to start the day with the right foot and still have some changes in your pockets :-)
Next time I will try one of their sub deals which they seems really delicious and I am sure they are.

I think this local Subway must have been taken over by new management late last year because it has been transformed. Subway is Subway a bit like Nandos is Nandos but that doesn’t mean that they are all the same quality in terms of customer service or food. It was nice to see it busy and with lots of banter between the staff and customers. I just had a coffee (which was really nice and I’m very particular about coffee, but friend had a chicken sensation sub which was fresh and well packed, and he enjoyed it). But above all, the 5 stars are for the quality of the staff service: exceptional for a fast food/​sandwich type of eatery. Smiley, polite and above all, friendly. Will pop back when next in town!
