Sabotage Too is a few yards up from ‘Sabotage’, the first incarnation-the popularity of which resulted in the opening of ‘Too’ a couple of years ago. This isn’t a boutique as such, more a contemporary clothes shop that boasts a slight suggestion of authenticity in that it sells more mature clothing in a less kitsch interior than it’s predecessor a few doors down. ‘Too’ is really for the girls that were into ‘Sabotage’ a couple of years ago but have since grown up a bit and acquired a more grown-up style in the process. For that reason the two shops are separated as the clothes in both still share an underlying coolness but ‘Sabotage’ is for the more funky, colourful adolescent or university fresher whilst ‘Too’ is noticeably for that same girl but through time has acquired a greater sense of sophistication. In ‘Too’ the clothes for example are noticeably more unadorned as opposed to ‘Sabotage’s outlandish patterning, pop culture prints on t-shirts and rowdy colours. Featuring the celebrated labels such as Uttam, St. Martins and Nümph this remains a chic store for the contemporary city dweller. These labels however are not cheap as the average price of a Nümph skirt is about € 50 but they always have decent longevity, excellent quality and look fierce.

I was wandering around down town one day and thinking to myself, «WHERE do these girls get such cute stuff?» It certainly isn’t any place I’ve seen on Grafton Street or at Penney’s for goodness sake. Where? Then I found the area of Exchequer and William St South and I was all«ohhhh.» Sabotage Too is among the trendy boutiques that inhabit this area and I can tell you the first time I walked in I was well excited. Couldn’t believe how cute some of the merch was; they sell a lot of items that are more casual than fancy dress and as a result, really versatile. I took a browse around but, not feeling in the mood to buy because I was starving, I said goodbye to the clerk and left. Then two steps away I found another Sabotage! What I found to be the original store was, as Laura said a bit better and more whimsical. But Sabotage Two does have some really cute stuff and if you go to one, by all means go to the other.

I admit that this store confuses me. With Sabotage literally like three doors up the road, why they decided to open what is essentially a less-cool version so nearby is baffling. The stock is definately not as nice as that in the mother store, and it’s way smaller too. I wonder if they were just too lazy to get a warehouse so decided a shop would suffice? Try the original first. If you’re a Sabotage girl through and through, then pop in here after. But not first… this isn’t the real Sabotage chic!
