Roly Saul Restaurant

Large group for a family celebration. 2.30 on a Thursday afternoon so we had the place pretty much to ourselves. Great selection of starters and mains to suit all tastes. I had the chorizo and fish bisque starter which was pretty insipid. The liquid was more watery than it should have been with a few sad strips if chorizo and some chunky pieces of fish. Tasteless. Main was a burger which, with all the trimmings was quite good. Our host had chosen an excellent Sauvignon Blanc so absolutely no pain was felt. All in all, not bad and a more enjoyable alternative to work.

OK, I’ve been here twice recently. Once with the other half and once to catch up with three friends and both times for the early bird/​special deals. I haven’t been to the one in town so I can’t compare but I have to say I really enjoyed both meals.
The service at the front desk is very friendly and, like Bronagh, I would agree that our waiter could have been friendlier, I think they just very busy on the nights I was there and were not unfriendly, just efficient.
I enjoyed the menu, although it seemed a little limited but that’s the risk with a special menu and everyone I ate with enjoyed their meals.
There are a few deals with 2 courses for 2 with wine that are also a nice offer if you want to cap your spend as well.

this is no rolys i can tell you, i went in here expecting the service and food that you would get in rolys in ballsbridge and it was so very far off the mark!
yes it is expensive, you would expect that with the namerolys over the door but that is the only similarity to the ballsbridge roly’s while were greeted at the door the goodservice ended there, i didnt think our waiter was very friendly at all!
thefoodwaskind ofboringto be honest, a lot of it looks really good on the menu but when it arives and you taste it, itsnot like i wanted it to taste at all.
the derserts and drinkswere very good however but fortheoverall experience and price you expectfrom a rolys it is not great.
for now i am going to say that they are fairly new and maybe they have just not settledin properly but still, they should know fromtheri other restuarants!
