I popped in here one morning needing to borrow a tool to fix something that had come up on my way to work. The owner was yakking away on the phone for ages and then when he came to serve me he refused to lend me a tool, telling me to buy one instead at his(rather high) prices. Other bike shops I’ve turned to in a similar spot have happily lent what I needed to get on my way, which seems a much better way to build customer goodwill… I’m never going in here again!

If you need your bike fixed and you’re not willing to do it yourself definitely go here. Fast, efficient, fantastic work and very reasonable prices. I’ve meant to put this up for a while. I’ve had problems with my bike a few times after attempted theft and wear and tear and I always go here. Best place by far in Dublin 6 for Bicycle repairs and maintenance.

As someone who knows more than their fair share about bicycles(in all their glorious forms) I left the shop feeling as if I should have been running the place. The guys here have not-a-clue about the kinds of things I was asking about and didn’t have the U-lock belt holder I needed. Some serious questions need to be raised about Bike Shop owners in Dublin. I for one call for some sort of licensing system to be implemented.

I have recently become an avid cyclist after many years of motorcycling. I thought, brilliant, I won’t have to deal with mechanics any more. Well, it turns out the that pedal bike experts have even more voodoo and witchcraft than their motorised cousins. I don’t know my bottom bracket from my rear sprocket but I do know that Ranelagh Cycle stock high-end brands like; Dawes, Giant, Kelly’s and Trek; and also some more budget options like Falcon. They also have spare parts, do repairs and offer advice to anybody who feels they’ve been left holding their stem or scratching their chain ring when it comes the hefty lexicon of cycle terminology. I give Ranelagh Cycles three stars because their are so many other, larger selections of bicycles available in other bike shops within cycling distant, but if you like to keep it local or haven’t got a bike to cycle into town then Ranelagh Cycles are perfect for you
