I went to Quigley’s last week for what I thought would be a quick lunch while at the Ilac Centre. In retrospect I wish I hadn’t. I ordered one of their menu sandwiches which was supposed to be like a Sunday turkey dinner as it was filled with cranberry, turkey, stuffing and cheese. It sounded good so I ordered it on brown bread. Then the service problems started at happening. The first woman who took my order said she was going on break after having written down my order. The woman who came in for her asked me for my order three times and then walked away after only half making the sandwich. A third person came over and finally finished it and put it in to toast. After waiting at the til for far too long to pay, I sat down and waited for my sandwich. It was probably ten minutes and only came out after I chased someone down and asked them about it. It came out barely lukewarm and in reality was 90% stuffing, 9% cranberry sauce and less than 1% turkey, cheese or vegetable. It was basically a luke-warm, cranberry-flavoured stuffing sandwich which was really not all that appetizing. But I was hungry and ate it without complaint. Against my better judgement, I tried to order coffee after my sandwich but as I stood at the til waiting, they were simply too busy cleaning one of the front cases to take my order(they weren’t closing for another three hours). After almost five minutes and multiple attempts to get their attention, I gave up and walked out. Note: This pastries in the case looked quite delicious but I didn’t try any. I might give this place another chance as a takeaway for baked goods but I would never order another sandwich from them.

Would give four stars, but will give three, because of the cake I bought. Cake looked more beautiful than it actually tasted. That is misleading for me. Perhaps, this is stupid point of view. Perhaps you will consider to ask first before buying only for looks. I would come here for cup of coffee and a cup cake. You’ll be delighted!

It’s one of those old school cafes that does whopper big cream buns, big strong cups of tea, and a grand big sandwich that’ll fill ya to the brim. It’s nothing fancy and it doesn’t try to be, so if you’re looking for a quick lunch spot, that won’t break the bank with half decent food, this might be the one for you!

Just opened in Nutgrove. Nice coffee and delicious baked muffins. I was sick of going to McDonald’s so this is a nice change.

Quigley’s seems to take pride in their work ‘since’ whatever year they have up there. However on a tuesday morning at 10, you will not find fresh bread. As the sandwich bar was open I decided to get a bagel. The various fillings didn’t seem that fresh but perhaps it was just the lighting… The girl asked if I wanted the lettuce after the toasting to which I replied I didn’t want it toasted. She made a face, I asked if it was fresh, she said no. At this point I didn’t want the bagel but she’d already smeared the ingredients and I don’t like waste. I also thought to myself: ‘perhaps I shouldn’t hope for fresh ingredients’. Should I?

There are meal deals here from € 3.50. For € 5 you can get a very tasty breakfast roll and a tea or americano. There is plenty of seating which is not visible from the front. The establishment is very clean and the staff are friendly.
