I would highly recommend going to Neil Conway Jewelers whenever you are in Dublin! Here is my reason why: My girlfriend and I were visiting Dublin earlier this year, and prior to our trip I was asked by my brother-in-law to get a claddagh ring for my sister while we were there. While walking around town one day we stumbled upon Neil Conway Jewelers. We had looked at countless rings at several different locations around town and everything was either really cheap looking, or either on the much higher end of the spectrum. When we walked into Neil Conway Jewelers, we immediately noticed that there was a much better selection of not only claddagh rings, but of all types of jewelry. While we liked the selection of rings that they had much more than anywhere else we looked, we just weren’t seeing something that checked all the boxes of what we were looking for. After looking through their selection and not finding exactly what we were looking for, the owner then asked how long we were going to be in town for. When we told him that we were still in town for a few more days, he offered to custom make a ring for us! That was something completely unexpected, and I definitely took him up on the offer! When we went back to pick up the ring a few days later, I ended up buying a couple more pieces of jewelry from them as gifts for other family members. One of the other gifts I purchased from them was a Trinity Knot bracelet for my mom, but unfortunately it was a little too big on her wrist when she tried it on. So when my parents went to visit Dublin, they decided to take the bracelet with them to see if they could take it to the store get a couple links taken out of it so it would fit my mom’s wrist. My parents reminded them of the story about my girlfriend and I visiting them several months before. They not only remembered the story, but they even remembered our names without my parents even telling them! They then were more than happy to take the two links out of the bracelet for my mom so it would fit her better. The owner then surprisingly offered to use the two links he had taken out of the bracelet and turn them into Trinity Knot earrings for my mom to wear! The owners are easily some of the nicest people that I have come across out of all the places I have traveled. They go out of their way to help their customers, and give them exactly what they are looking for. If you ever visit Dublin, then this is one place I would definitely recommend going to for gifts to bring back with you!

I ordered 3 rings from Neil in September 2011. I paid $ 2400(us). I live in the US and he is in Dublin, so we agreed(via email and phone) if I didn’t like the ring I would get a 100% refund. When I got the rings in February(not December as promised) I showed my fiancé. We decided it they were not what we expected and didn’t want them and told Niel. I tried shipping it, $ 174, to him. He would not pay the the import fees and it got sent back. I then found someone who was going there, so I had them bring it to him. He refunded me $ 600 to start off and then said he was not going to refund the rest. We emailed and talked back and forth for months and he then said he would refund me after he sold it, if it sells. After almost a year he said he was going to refund me $ 1000 and did so. But that was all he was going to do. So all in all I paid $ 974 to look at his rings. He has not refunded the last $ 800 and does not intend to. Don’t get me wrong, if you look at his work it is good. But his word is worthless and he doesn’t keep agreements. If I were in Dublin I would take him to court to get my money back. Sorry it had to resort to this, but I just don’t want others to get screwed out of their money.
