It’s a new year and a new me! So I decided what better way to start off the year than a major life overhaul, that includes a major apartment makeover. Do I really need so many clothes that I can’t actually fit the clothes I wear into the wardrobe? And that pile of books that don’t fit in the book shelf? Ok so now that I have these bags of valuable junk I wasn’t sure what to do with them. Then I remembered there was a little charity shop in Terenure. There’s a great little story behind the founding of the place and how it spread throughout the country if you check out the website. I also used to work in an eye and ear hospital and I was amazed at the incidence of blindness in Ireland and that’s what their profits go towards. It is a bit small, but you can’t really say anything bad about a charity shop can you?

If I was a little bit more cynical I’d say that Mrs Quin isn’t some kindly old lady, thats what they’d like you to think, but a front for a ruthless corporate endevour who’d sold their Granny, not unlike Mrs Quin for a few quid years ago. Happily Mrs Quin’s is nothing like this but a humble charity shop situated at the quiet end of Terenure, not that Terenure is jumping or anything just there isn’t many shops there. I’m pretty much only here for books, of which they have a small but quality enough range if you look. The place is a bit of a mess but its not BT2 so they can be forgiven for that. As well as this they do clothes, toys and various assorted bric a brac. As already stated in the review their always looking for donations of books, clothes, DVD’s etc. Its all for a good cause as well, the National council for the blind in Ireland being the recipients.
