Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe

I am a huge fan of their wears!
Especially the bon bons, peppermint swirls, fried eggs, snakes, jellybeans, toffee and gummy teeth!
This is a great place to find American brands too like Twizzlers, Reece’s Pieces, Whatchamacallit’s and Butterfingers.
The store looks incredible and I love their old world style! It’s magical and I could spend hours in here (if it wasn’t sort of embarrassing to do that).
The biggest let down for me however are the prices!
The cost will always make this shop more of a special occasion type place rather than a place I would drop into regularly.
It loses 2 Stars for this basically because the mark ups are so obviously extortionate

A good location and immaculately decorated in the ye olde way. The staff were very nice too and extremely helpful.
A lot of novel items in stock, as well as the old favourites that stir nostalgia. Wham!
But it is a little pricey, so I don’t usually buy very much as a result. Good thing really, I don’t eat too many sweets then ;)
A lovely experience this shop, worth a look.

This place is so cool! I’d twin it with willy wonka’s chocolate factory.
If you ever need to buy a present for a friend or family member who is a little odd and hard to shop for then this shop could be useful — assuming they like sweets of course. I’ll be buying my granny’s presents here in future, she loves those toffee brittle sets that come with the little hammer.
I can’t imagine what a child must feel like when he/​she enters this place, I was so tempted to buy everything but unfortunately the prices would cripple me. Just a note, things can be very expensive here. Sweets here are mostly brand named and packaged, which makes them great for presents. They also have a wonderful assortment which is puuurfect.

I’m ready to admit that I love sweets, especially chocolate and that I’m known to shell out considerable money on «fancy» chocolate e.t.c, but every girl has her limit.
I specifically went here to get some fudge one day, and was shocked at the price; nearly four euro a bag for a small handful of fudge. The chocolate seemed to be a bit more fairly priced; while still hovering around four euro, you were buying a large slab of seriously nice chocolate. There was some nice sweets which cost quite a lot less, but 80% of the shop was a little too expensive for my purse.
Not a fan either of the dark interior, which while fashioned after the shops of ye olde, really makes me feel like I’m back in Dickensian London, hovering near sweets which I can never afford. Shop assistant was lovely though, and well capable of handling large amounts of tourists who seem to wash into the shop like waves.
The fact that it’s just down from Grafton Street might be the reason why it has «tourist prices», but still I don’t know how you can justify nearly four euro for a small amount of fudge.

there is a huge selection of sweets, everything from your childhood staples to the sweets that were just a flash in the pan and even the american sweets we are so used to seeing in the movies but hardly ever get to try.
its right slap bang on the middle of dame street and the staff really make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time with their polite, helpful and friendly manner! always smiling and ready n willing to help you remember that sweet you used to love as a kid or help you pick something new to try that’ll suit your tastes.
ive been in here quite a few times now and every time i feel like skipping when i leave with my bag of sweets!

Very pretty shop with a selection of classic, fancy, and American sweets and candies. I particularly liked their selection of soft drinks which included Jolly Rancher drinks, and retro Pepsi (with real sugar!) as well as cherry Doctor Pepper (I can’t even imagine what that tastes like, and never intend to find out). They stock both Jelly Bellies and Jelly Bean Factory beans which is great. They were doing a pretty brisk trade when I was there and I was getting dizzy from the smell of sugar. I used to dream of places like this as a kid. The reason for only three stars is the prices. I know these places are by their nature slightly expensive treats but seriously, nearly a fiver for a few jelly beans, mental.
