The service here is incredible. Nice, fast and just chatty enough. Food was terrible, they had a Sunday roast with the driest potato’s. I think this would be a great spot if you are just looking for a few pints close to home but I will not be back for food that is for sure. The service was so so so good though.

Needed somewhere within walking distance last night and tried here after reading Aoifes’ recommendation. Greeted by the lovely Paddy who was all chat and when we ordered(starters and mains) told us that we could get a pint or a glass of wine with a pizza and the main would be € 10! I always have to try the wings when visiting a restaurant for the first time and these were so good il be back again and again for them. Just how I like them. I went for the burger and it was juicy and well Cooked, opted for no bun as im gluten intolerant and the chunky fries were lovely. My friend had garlic mushrooms and they looked lovely and came with a generous salad and she had a pizza which looked lovely. I have a small gripe though, there was zero offering for gluten free. I’m not a ceoliac so I don’t have to worry too much about cross contamination but it’s a shame that with so much choice on the menu there isn’t a couple of gluten free options. I did talk to the manager about it and he said he was going to ask his pizza chef to try out some gluten free bases so that would be interesting!

This review relates to the Joshua Tree part! I got a quick bite in here over the weekend and was well impressed with price point and standard. A wood stove baked pizza and a cheeky vino or a pint for a tenner, you’d be hard pressed to find a better deal. Staff were pleasant and they let me choose my own topping when the standard menu list didn’t really appeal, I went for pesto, caramelised onion and mushroom and it was all the shades of yum. The venue itself strikes a good balance between airy and cosy and there were a few families in there as it was early, but I can see it being a nice spot for a few with friends also, and they seem to run deals every day on food so it wont bankrupt you to leave the house for a few hours in cold and dreary January!
