I had the best super food salad. It was delicious and the portion is very big. The staff are amazing too. Love this place.

MAIA is a great spot for lunch in D4. The salads, sandwich’s and soup is always spot on. Make sure to get their early, or make a booking because it fills up quick. I haven’t tried their brunch yet, but I am sure its just as good as their lunch!

Good spot for lunch, but it’s their street-side sandwich bar that makes Maia essential. Being able to grab an excellent sandwich and good coffee for less than a tenner is such a bargain. If you’re into a more sit-down meal, they do that too with a nicely murky atmosphere. A Really great spot.

Kind of medium-sized coffee shop near Silicon Docks, and close to the RSD. So of course, during Web Summit, I stopped by for a coffee. The place is quite nicely decorated inside, simple, cozy, and with a nice ambiance. Unfortunately, the audio level wasn’t exactly inviting. Service is quick, friendly if not exactly overwhelming, and the coffee is fine. Not a bad place, but not a stand-out place, either.

This place is not for my taste mainly because their food has no taste :).Plain chicken and bad mix or the lack of spices — very bland. However, I know a few people who like that place. Good coffee.

Small café close to RDS and good for brunch or just coffee. The space inside is cool but the brunch menu was a kinda of poor so we ended up having just coffee, with by the way took ages to be served to us(the place was not even full). I saw a few people ordering take away, what makes lot of sense. Prices in the take away menu are way cheaper.

Great lunch spot in Ballsbridge, quite small but they cater for groups. Had the Superfood Salad with Chicken and it was delicious. Very healthy and tasty and a big portion so will leave you full for the day! Good service, quick and friendly staff and about 15 euro each!

I went to there brunch time. I think there are a lot of customers, but fortunately, we sit on a seat quickly. There is a nice place, cuz these clips to Aviva stadium, RDS, Herbert park… etc The staffs is friendly, and Foods is delicious! My recommend is Poached Eggs menu and Salad menu, cuz there are various styles menu. Also we can have a relaxing time drinking cup of coffee/tea. Next time, I’ll try another menu;)

Nice food esp Cuban Sandwich. Can be pricey for € 6 and service can be slow even in the take away area but worth it for a Friday treat.

Went for lunch here last week. Really nice bright room with big wooden tables. Friendly staff but could be a little more attentive. We had to get up from our table to ask for more water. Superfood salad with chicken was really nice and a really big portion. Would not be hungry afterwards! Finished off with a nice pot of tea

I planned to meet a friend here for coffee, since it is a well-known breakfast place and café, and even advertise«afternoon tea». Met a friend, and he was already seated, and had just ordered a full pot of tea. The server came over to me, and I ordered an Americano, at which point, the server told us that we had to leave because we were not ordering food. Tea hardly touched, we walked out, and then were chased after because the tea was left unpaid for. My friend told the waiter that since it seemed it was okay to kick customers who had ordered something out, thus not allowing an opportunity to even consume the beverage, he would not pay for it. Extremely disappointed, as I’ve never been told to leave somewhere because we were not ordering food — ESPECIALLY a café! And one that advertises an «Afternoon tea»!!! Never coming back here, as I don’t think it even matters what the food is like when the staff is so unpardonably rude.

Lovely place and appears to be run by an Italian family. Friendly staff, good produce and very nice sandwiches. The coffee is also very good

Midweek breakfast was a disappointment. Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and chives came out as a mound of scrambled eggs hidden under a few pieces of smoked salmon, couple pieces of toast on the side. Chives: MIA. It’s not that hard to mix the salmon with the eggs, and maybe mix in some of that promised greenery. Add a couple of roasted tomatoes or something along those lines and you’re up to four stars. Minimal effort I could outdo in my kitchen while drunk –} 2 stars. Food aside, the restaurant is pretty cool, but not pretentious; interesting décor, and the music(Squirrel Nut Zippers album I hadn’t heard since the early oughts) was a’ight. I want to like this place and will go back, maybe for weekend brunch, in the hope that the food catches up with the rest of what Maia has going on.

Although I have eaten here in the evening, this is a coffee review, because Maia also operates a take away coffee bar and a café service in the mornings. And it is decent coffee, with better pastries and far cheaper prices than the Starbucks down the street. Maia is definitely a good morning coffee destination for people in the Ballsbridge area. The coffee is, in general, a better cup than either Starbucks or Café Java and they have a loyalty card to get you a free cup every now and then. I am reliably informed that their croissant is far better than the ones found in Starbucks They also do good deals on prepared meals to take away for lunch but as yet I have not bought one — they certainly look tempting… Last but not least, if you are not on your way into work like me, you can take a seat inside and enjoy your coffee there instead along with breakfast. Believe me, I have looked on enviously :)

Is it me, or has Maia bought into its own hype? Best visited for summer tapas and a few glasses of good red, Maia is that über-chic bistro executives and account managers go to hang their briefcases at the end of a long day. The décor is ultra trendy too, all white leather and dark woods with moody spot lighting. But, pull the glass doors open and take a seat at the tall table with a few friends, and you have an amazing place to while away summer happy hours… which could turn into dinner quite easily. The lunch menu is mostly hits like goats cheese salads or a spicy penne pasta that turns pale faces lobster red. Your server will probably take their time refilling glasses or bringing over needed napkins /cutlery, so take it easy, sip that wine, and relax.

I’ve been here twice now. The first time was terrible, we waited for ages for brunch and when my friend’s «avocado» salad came, it had just two bits of avocado on it. Boo. But I went back last week to give it another try and it was way better. We realised that it’s because they changed the chef so that must account for it. They have a great menu, lots to choose from to suit all moods from antipasti dishes to proper meals. I had the paella(€ 17), it’s called Real Paella and it tasted like the real McCoy alright. Delicious. They’ve won me back, I’ll give it another chance.

I just popped into maia for lunch this week and I was so impressed! I have never been before and actually had never even heard of it, but went to meet a friend and we ended up here. It’s a lovely little lace in the heart of Ballsbridge. We just had some sandwiches — the chicken Caesar and emmental cheese, salami and red onion ones were fab — but everything that came from the kitchen looked amazing. Particularly the pizza and chicken wings. It was quite busy too with a mixture of suits, girlfriends meeting for lunch and families. I think it would be a great place for a date, a girly lunch or a group dinner. I’ll definitely be going back to try the dinner menu soon!
