Luas Charlemont Station

Nothing says «urban modernity» like a light-​rail viaduct! This station marks the transition between a fairly ordinary suburban rail line and the brilliant urban streetcar portion. It would have been easy to make this station the terminus and pretend that the southern neighborhoods were adequately serviced, but continuing bravely into Stephen’s Green was a bold decision.
I think about that, as our ultramodern train glides through Charlemont and down into the busy streets among 400 year old houses. This city is awesome.
