I debated giving this place four stars, but the more I wrote the more I couldn’t justify giving it the full marks. This place is close to my home, and we found it a little randomly on a Saturday. We had heard some good things about it, and we knew where it wav because we pass it often on our way to MVP, so we decided to make it the dinner spot on a date night. No pressure! We arrived early and ended up having the early bird menu — no big deal because it’s very varied and it has all our favorites. The food is excellent, some of the best Indian food I had. Now I’m no expert on Indian food, and I’m sure if I had true Indian food I would cringe at all the spice — I am after all a huge fan of Korma in all its mildness. But this food definitely feels authentic and it’s also extremely well presented. And yes, the lamb Korma is to die for. The décor is very tasteful, while still having a lot of Indian flavor. I’m usually not one to notice these things, but since it was date night I did feel pleased the the atmosphere was fitting to the mood of the evening. And the service is, honestly, what tipped this place to 5 stars. The waiters were all incredibly nice, polite and helpful. We were suffering from a bit of indecision, especially when picking the wine, and everyone was more than patient. So now you know why I had to go back and give this place the 5 stars. And since this we have not only been back, we’ve also ordered from there and it has always been consistently excellent.

The butter chicken is as deep and earthy as the foundations of the Harmandir Sahib temple in Punjab. The marriage of the turmeric and garamsala is as perfect a love story as Shahrukh Khan and Aiswarya Rai in Devdas. The brightness of the saffron and cumin resembles the delicate sunsets of Goa. Delicious.

I am blown away! Such a great little spot, amazing food, excellent staff. The perfect date night! This will definitely become our go-to for a dinner out, it’s very close to home and has a great atmosphere. Intimate and cozy, tasteful décor, attentive staff, excellent food! We got the early bird menu(we’re officially old people now) and it was a great deal at 15 euros each for a generous starter and main. The early bird menu conveniently includes the most popular dishes, too: I got the Onion Bhaji and the Chicken Tikka Masala and both were phenom. The Onion Bhaji and Garlic Naan bread was the best I’ve ever had. Most places do it in a similar way, both are greasy, but not this place. The Bhaji is a beautiful, crispy little tumbleweed, and the Naan is also crispy and the garlic was roasted so it was full of flavor! My Tikka Masala was pretty mild, but every place does it differently. It was sweeter than I expected but still delicious, just depends on your preference. Lots of chicken that was perfectly seasoned and cooked. So nice to have Indian that almost feels gourmet, thoughtfully prepared and perfectly cooked, without all the grease or watered down sauce! They have a nice wine selection as well, we ordered the Spanish red blindly and thoroughly enjoyed it! We barely had room for dessert but shared the ice cream and also loved it. Super creamy and full of warm spices. I really can’t find a single fault in this place, which makes me so happy because it’s so close to home and we can’t wait to go back! They were constantly receiving delivery orders so it’s obvious everyone knows how good this place is!

Love this place. Is probably the best Indian restaurant I’ve been in Dublin. The tasting menu is always well assorted and useful for people not use to Indians flavours. The staff is always nice.

So, you know how vegetable samosas are always dry? .Well so are these, but for once this was made up for with what appears to be multi-colored sauce made in-house which was über tasty and had a funky appearance. Overall, KonKan offers good quality veg tasting menu for good value in my opinion. Parking is also handy around here, there’s usually a spot on the canal because it’s quiet. Great service, I would totally go back. Beer menu needs to be worked on. I mean beer was invented to go with curry right!!! My advice, go to the pub across the road afterwards.

I come from a south Asian household and grew up eating North and South Indian food. This has to be one of my favourite restaurants ever. Handsdown, this is the BEST Indian food in Dublin. And I’ve tried a lot of the other restaurants. The food has amazing flavour and uses good quality ingredients. Do try the Goan fish curry — if you ask. They’ll make a Goan shrimp curry. That is my absolute favourite here from what I tried. The mango with shrimp AppetIzer is also good! The mango Lassi is a refreshing drink with some cardamom. I absolutely love it here– even as good as some of the food from India itself, and as good as some of the Indian restaurants in Toronto. I’ve tried many Indian restaurants in Dublin which serve horrendous food but get rave reviews– which leads me to think Dublin doesn’t know Indian food. No offense. But you want great flavours, creamy curries and amazing naan? COMEHERE. If you want real Indian flavours, classy seating and great service… Go to Konkan!

Love Konkan. It’s the only indian we will order a takeaway from regularly. And always the Butter Chicken and Malabar Chicken curry, both are so good! You get free Poppadums and a mango and yummy mint dip with each order and my current favourite starter is a new black pepper chicken dish that is really worth trying! They are also really accommodating with requests(eg Aloo Gobbi without the Aloo, they must think I’m mad, but are very polite about it!!) Other favourites are the onion bhaji, lamb seekh kebab and Tarka Dahl side dish. Ps. They will deliver wine from their wine list with your order too.

Possibly the best Indian restaurant in South dublin in my opinion. I have eaten here on numerous occasions and the food is consistently good as well as being reasonable price wise. My daughters who can be quite picky when it comes to food are partial to the rogan josh

Really very good. Had the fried prawns with mango for the starter, well cooked and the mangos in a mild curry sauce totally stole the show. Malabar chicken for the main, was excellent– the chicken was really nicely cooked, with a little hint of charring from the cooking process adding flavour. Well ahead of the standard Dublin curry house fare. Service was also very good, I don’t think my water glass was ever empty for a full five seconds. Also well priced in terms of the quality, about fifty Euros for starters and mains for two. Didn’t have dessert, so can’t speak to that.

I love Konkan. It’s our favourite and nearest Indian restaurant. How cool is that? For starters, the meat platter is excellent, as are the Onion Bhajis. Our most favourite dish here is the Butter Chicken. It’s delicious and we order it every visit. The Chicken Cafreal is good also. If partaking in a tipple, we still go for the Teresa Rizzi Pinot Grigio. The staff are so polite and very friendly. I highly recommend Konkan.

I’ve been eating at Konkan many times(twice at their new Dundrum location and a dozen more in the old Harold’s Cross venue). It is certainly the best value for money you can get in Dublin if you like Indian food! The food is just excellent! My favourite dish is the Masala Bhindi(spicy okra), which feels like there’s a party in your mouth and everyone’s invited. But it’s not about one dish only. All the food they cook is absolutely amazing! Always so heavenly flavourful! The ingredients are always fresh. There is a huge selection, so it takes some time to decide. But no worries, complimentary papadoms are on the house and on their way to your table straight away. Although the place is not purely vegetarian, they offer many vegetarian dishes and most of the dishes can be prepared vegan as well. All these for a very affordable price. The main course costs € 10 for the vegan options and about € 15 for meat dishes. Expect to spend 2 – 3 more for rice or naan bread. They also offer an early bird menu, so for around € 15 you can also get a starter(the ones I tried were always delicious). I’m sure the food will allure you to come back again and again Also the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is just fab. The place is slightly off the centre, but it still falls within the boundaries of the inner city and easily accessibly from town(there is a bus stop — 9, 16 and 49 — just by the restaurant’s doorstep). If I could give them more stars I would!

Feeling lazy to cook yesterday, I have ordered vegetable tikka masala+Rice from Konkan through . It was delivered in exactly 35 min as they have promised. I had a feeling that most of the indian restaurants in dublin doesn’t cook the indian way until i ordered food from konkan. I wouldn’t say that it prepares the most authentic Indian food but definitely one of the best in Dublin. Liked: The quality is very good compared to the other Indian restaurants Less usage of oil and spices(maybe a con to indians but others would love it :)) Delivery is fast Didn’t like: delivery was mentioned as 1.50 but charged me 1.80

BESTINDIANINDUBLIN? Konkan is a great Indian resturant. I’m starting to become a regular, I’m saying that because they recognise me now! So i’ve given five stars here which I don’t do lightly as I spent 17 years either living in birmingham or yorkshire where there are a lot of quality indian resturants. I considered four stars as I found the delivery service isnt quite up to scratch. But I decided to review this as a sit down ocasion. The décor is ok, standard indian resturant to be honest. The staff are very good and are pretty friendly as well. Starters ====== Poppadoms are very good here and slightly different as they are in bite size chunks. I liked them a lot. I have tried the onion bhargi’s, mixed meat starter and mixed vegi starter they are all very good. Main courses ========== To be honest here I have had the butter chicken all but one times as its just delicious. I cant recommend it enough. I would say its my favourite curry of all time. Try it before moving on is my advice. Rice & Naan ========= The pilau rice and plain naan are excellent. Delivery ====== We have had take out a couple of times from here, and although still good the starters seemed to be a bit soggy and not the same as the sit down menu. It is a lot cheaper however to get delivered(about 2/3rds of the price) Cost ==== Not the cheapest Indian around a special is 15 euro+ for instance, but the wine is reasonabile and nice to so it makes up for it. But these are quality dishes. Overall a great place, I had to give it five stars even though it might deserve 4 for the décor not being amazing and delivery not being perfect. However if I had a choice of eating somewhere in Dublin and could only eat there. This would probably be my choice.

This place is close to me, so I get take-away from here often. The lamb dishes haven’t been that great, but overall this is some good indian food.

When we’re feeling lazy and want a special treat form takeaway, I am almost always choosing Konkan. I am trying to be adventurous and order something different. I wasn’t mistaken not even once. Portion are quite large, usually there is still something left for the lunch the next day. And you get a portion of Pappadoms with 2 sauces:) The service is friendly and helpful. Usually it takes around 25 minutes form the phone call to getting your food ready and prices are bit higher than in other take-away but it’s definitely worth it:)

New fav. Indian takeaway menu. I like the touch of south Indian spices in the food n the menu is quite balanced with various north n south Indian options. The south indian+syrian chicken dish is great.

This is not the place to go for a Korma — really, it is basically just hot cream, not great. Nor is it a place to go if you are really really hungry as the gap between when you sit and order in the very pleasant surrounds taking in the dimly lit busy dining room, quaffing wine and when the food actually arrives can be considerable. However, if you have time and prefer a hotter curry then KonKan can be a great venue for a night out. We have been there with groups a few times and always enjoyed ourselves. They have a modest selection of wines and are not overly expensive. Definitely worth a bash!
