This is a large coffee shop/deli near tones of business parks so it’s always busy. Known for good coffee, they have a good selection of lunch items(sandwiches, tarts, salads and some specials) and if you want something sweet they do really nice scones. Could do with more seating, more veggie or healthy options and definately more staff(expect a long queue if you go anytime 11 – 2.30) but otherwise a good place for quick lunch if you’re in the area.

Working in a business park you don’t have many options(or any options) if you want to step out of the office over lunch to grab a quick coffee or sandwich, or so I thought. My colleague introduced me to Java, a hidden gem of a coffee shop and restaurant. With a variety of sandwiches made fresh each day they are wrapped and ready to go if you’re in a hurry. If you want to take a break from the office, Java has tables if you’re interested in sitting in. Although the sandwiches are a bit pricey(at roughly € 6-€ 8 for a take away sandwich on bread), I hear they are worth it. It is quite busy around lunch time, between 12 – 1:30pm so I’d plan accordingly. If you just want to sneak away for a coffee and a sweet, they have an array of mouth-watering sweets such as rocky road, gingerbread and shortbread cookies, cupcakes and scones, all which look like they have been baked in house. I had a latte and a slice of rocky road and it was heaven. Unfortunately I think that I have picked up a bad habit as I can see a trip to Java in my future most mornings. And if you’re up for supporting Irish businesses, Java roasts their own beans which they sell to a handful of coffee shops in town. I can’t wait until my next trip as I think I’m going to buy my own beans and see how they taste in my French press!

Whats not to like about this place. The coffee is roasted on site which adds a unique feel. I just had to order a second cup. I didn’t eat but the food looks yum. Everything from hot breakfast to the biggest sandwiches I’ve seen since watching Man vs Food on TV! I was here for 11’siz. I would imagine its gets very busy at lunchtime with all the Industrial estates so close. The staff were very friendly & helpful. I love it when you find somewhere new!

The coffee here is absolutely top notch as the beans are roasted on site, you will not get a fresher cup of coffee anywhere. Hot food is served from about half twelve until two and is great although a bit expensive at between € 11 and € 12 for a lunch. Having said that it is excellent and a Calvert style setup so service is quick even though the queue may look dauntingly long when you enter.

The coffee was so fresh it would be almost worth traveling to ballycoolin just for coffee. I visited because I was waiting for my car to be fixed nearby and they also have fresh food altho sadly no hot food when I got there but the salads were nice. Staff seemed very happy and the girl who was on her way home even stopped to make my coffee instead of rushing past me!

Delicious! It’s definitely not a typical«tourist» destination when in Dublin, but absolutely worth a detour. the coffee was about as fresh as it gets; I was really pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food there. I was expecting pre packaged; chemically laden sandwiches… I was SO wrong. Everything was freshly made and tasted so. Also, coming from the dollar to the euro, it really was value for dollar; I would absolutely go there again.

The Java Republic Roasting Company is a working roastery that has viewing windows making the factory floor visable from the joining café. The food is reasonaly priced and very tasty. The coffee is of very high quality and maybe even more satisfying due to being able to see it being processed. The café itself is airy and comfortable and caters to business types, families and those just wanting a coffee. Viewing windows leading towards the toilets offer information about the process and the history of coffee making. Having lunch or coffee at Java Republic Roasting Company is an outing in itself!
