Oh dear God. I’ve been driven to writing a review on Imagine, even though I wished and prayed that they could just become a figment of my own imagination. I cancelled my account with them last June-​yes, over 8 months ago, and they rang again today. And texted during the week. One more communication from this communication provider and I will be contacting the Ombudsman on grounds of harrassment!
Imagine took over as my internet and phone providers in my last apartment when they took over Cinergi. The internet was passable-​but never worked that well. A phone call to tech support was an expensive waste of time… I know how to switch the modem off and on again, thank you. The level of incompetence rose to new heights though when I rang to cancel my account 2 weeks before I was due to move. They didn’t follow through. A month on, and in a different city, I rang again. They had received no such request. I was angry but instructed them to do what had been asked. Each and every communication was accompanied by approximately 4 text messages saying that my query had been resolved. This happens regardless of who initiates the call. I received a (frankly extortionate) bill which I actually paid just so that I would never have to deal with them again. More phone calls… and more… before they tormented me to tell me that THEY owed ME money and would be sending me a cheque. I received it approximately 6 weeks ago. Another text this week, followed by a phone call today.
Them: «Hi. This is Pierce from Imagine. It’s in relation to a bill from us that has been returned from your address» (unexpected that-​8 months after moving)
Me: «I’ve paid everything owed. Months ago.»
Them: «Oh yeah. Now that I look, you have»
Me: «In fact, YOU owed ME money»
Them: «Oh yes.»
Me: «Never, ever, contact me again»
I hung up.
3 minutes later-​text message. Your query had been resolved. The phone was very nearly flung into the lovely Clontarf bay.
Avoid at all costs. There are other ways to make phone calls and get online. Ones that don’t involve homicidal ideation.
