Average at best unfortunately. Used to come here regularly a few years ago and on a visit back today to pick up some lunch I was left very disappointed. I went for a small salad and the selection available was uninspired. Rounded off with a cappuccino and the whole lot came to over € 7. It filled me but that’s about all I can say. On a positive they do have a great selection of sandwiches on offer so that might be a better option!

This is one of the very few lunch options in Ballsbridge. It’s possibly one of the better options too. The salads are reasonable enough, about € 6 for a large one including meat. I find the sandwiches very tasty but awfully overpriced & today they charged me € 4 for a small soup which i find outrageous as someone who would make a lot of soup at home! Anyway, prices aside the quality of the food is great. There is one member of staff, who honestly has the most sour face and demeanour. She’s quite abrupt & verging on rude. But if you can look past that it’s worth a visit! Ps, they dont take cards!

A great alternative to Rolly’s if you’re looking for a sandwich or salad box.

Oh Hemingways, how many times have you broken my heart? I mean full on, Charlton Heston in Planet of the Apes, «Damn you all to hell!”-style heartbreak. I can’t count the times I’ve went to get lunch here and been presented with a near-empty deli counter. Hemingways gets swamped on most weekday lunchtimes, with queues out the door for their sandwiches, soups and salads. It’s worth it though, the selection is excellent. There’s a good selection of nibbles and drinks to accompany the wraps and soups. The service is uniformly friendly too, even when the queue resembles a Dawn of the Dead style rampage.

Serious value and the finest endorsement any deli/coffee shop can ever receive-there is always at least one Garda outside. Plus, it’s named after our good friend Ernest, which means they won’t stand no nonsense. Sandwiches made with actual bread(not middle-eastern rye based bread substitute) in D4 at a very reasonable price. This place is a gem.

This cute little place is one of the best value spots in the city. It’s nice to know that you can find excellent value in D4. You are only a hop skip and a jump from Herbert Park. I often get my lunch to go and chill out in the park. It truly is the best value for money in the area and the food is extremely wholesome. You can get a bagel and a coffee for just under € 3 before noon. Sandwiches work out at around € 3.50. Along with coffee and tea, they also do fresh juices and smoothies. I am wrecking my brain to think of a place that offers the same value.
