This is a pretty deadly spot isn’t it really. It’s places like this that should be talked about more with regards to Temple Bar, rather than the diddle-dee-eye side of it. Tucked away inside Meeting House Square, the Gallery of Deadliness always has so much cool exhibits on. It’s a nice airy exhibition space as well that lends itself well to medium sized showings. I most recently went to see Man On The Bridge, which is just a beautiful show — if you ever get the chance to go along, I’d highly recommend it. They also have a really nice shop downstairs that stocks some gorgeous photography based books. I could spend a fortune in here if I had it!

Nice place. Free admission. Quality selection of photos. Not very big, but that what is presented, is showed in a caring and good quality facility. Also: Check out the shop. Great selection of books — but no Gregory Crewdson. Shame on you!

At least when we stopped in there was no actual«gallery» to speak of. All of the walls were bare and the only pictures to be seen where on a slideshow being projected on one wall. Maybe we just happened to stop in here when they were in transition between exhibits, but if a new exhibit was coming there weren’t any signs to saying when it was expected be ready to view. At least it was free, so all I wasted was a couple minute walking through a few empty rooms.

One of the amazing free things to do in Dublin City Centre, The Gallery of Photography is a perfect Cultural pop-in. It’s a smaller Gallery, that can provide for a quick trip in or a day of reflection. They always have something new/fresh to see and nothing about this gallery feels stagnant or stuffy. This is a Two level gallery with the lower level housing a bookstore with books, etc for purchase.

At present there is a Steve McCurry display there and it is fantastic. This review should be more about the venue, I feel, but I also feel I should mention how great these photos are. Beautiful venue to display the pictures with a lot of space. I will definitely be going back for another event. The only problem is the flow, there was not enough room to comfortably walk by the other people there. Also, free!

This Gallery also acts as a bookshop and centre for local photographic arts. You can also access the Gallery upstairs for free and there is usually something interesting and challenging on display. The Bookshop has a good selection of general photographic books and also a good selection of more specific works. If you are looking for a book that is hard to find and it touches upon photography this is probably the best place to go. They will order in for you and also provide information on the books you are looking for from their database. It is hidden away a bit, and its neon sign does not attract as many as you would think from the street outside the square. So you can escape the madness for a brief period and enjoy some lovely photography! They also provide a sign up to photography courses if you are interested in taking up the artform, and will provide access to their own darkrooms also!

The Gallery of Photography is the perfect place to learn about the art of photography. Its location in Meeting House Square conceals it from the hoards of Temple Bar shoppers so it’s not overcrowded either. It sells books on the trade and postcards of famous icons. The shop leads to a free gallery upstairs. This afternoon, the gallery was hosting an exhibition of photographer Josef Koudelka’s work. He captured images of Russians invading Prague in 1968. Koudelka’s voice narrated while his powerful shots were projected on the wall. The Gallery of Photography is a great place to visit for all people interested in this art form.

I love doing things for free in this city especially during these times. The Gallery of Photography is a compact place, that you can easily explore in under an hour. They always have some fresh exhibit on show and the layout of the gallery is open and modern. Downstairs is the bookstore, which is stocked with a wide assortment of titles on the photography theme.
