Evergreen

Apples or pears, potatoes or carrots, cucumber or exotic tomatoes… they have it all here in this gem of a grocer. Also sells bread, juices, cold meat and cheese as well as herbs, pasta and rice and sauces and things. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and everything is reasonably priced. They stay open till 7pm weeknights and are also open on Sunday so there’s no excuse for getting your five a day!

This is now my go to place to get fruits and veggies every week, mainly because of how close by this place is to my college and because they have amazing quality with unbeatable prices!

Best greengrocer ever. I think I go like every day because it’s so affordable, fresh produce, they have excellent service, and they give stamp cards that once you spend € 100 you get € 10 off. Holla. They have an incredible selection for such a tiny shop, too, they sell everything from heirloom tomatoes to bufala mozzarella to agave nectar. If you live in or around Camden Street, the bigger shops like Fresh (yuck) or Tesco (last resort) and hit Evergreen for all your produce needs.

Big fan of Evergreen. You can pick up an incredible selection of fresh organic produce at very competitive prices. Staff are all really knowledgable and are quick to offer information about seasonality and alternatives. Special mention to the owner Michelle — this is the kind of service that makes Dublin what it is. Will be my first stop for fruit and veg in future.

Absolutely brilliant fruit shop and then some. Staff are always friendly and helpful. They even have a loyalty scheme which is very reasonable. Feel much happier shopping for fruit and veg here than the supermarkets. Tasty fruit in Dublin!
Now do fresh juice, which is much more reasonable than buying in juice bars or other cafes.

Look, it’s pricey, but sometimes in life you get what you pay for and I for one believe this rule applies to fruit and veg.
There’s a great selection of both, and a limited selection of other items, but I’m there to buy the things I can’t get elsewhere, including a few days ago, a blood orange, which I haven’t managed to get my grubby mits on in quite some time. They also have fresh bottled juices which look tasty. I will say if you were coming from a distance its tough to park in the area, which is hardly their fault, but certainly worth the effort

great shop. Has become more expensive in recent years but is fairly priced and has some fruits and vegetables you won’t find elsewhere. but everything is good, Attractive, international staff excellent and helpful. Also has health foods and is very suitable for fussy American health nuts and gourmet people looking for the perfect artichoke or rare mushrooms. Close enough to Grafton St and the Luas etc to include in an city shopping spree and not as expensive or pretentious as some trendy food markets. and has very good value bags of apples, oranges.

I love being surrounded by fresh fruits and vegetables — makes me feel like I’m in a salad bowl… ;)
I’d rather head to Evergreen than any other supermarket to get my produce. It’s fully stocked and very inviting. And, there are all sorts of little extras crammed into the shelves!
Even this little market’s name is welcoming: EVERGREEN… It brings a whole new meaning to ‘vegging out’!

I was craving an omelet for lunch and ideally wanted one to go but around where I am based there is really a lack of good egg focused businesses.
I’m telling you there is a need and huge market for some entrepreneur to just do egg based dishes. There would be lines of folks out the door I tell you especially the health focused*.
Anyhow I passed here and thought,
‘I may as well make my own omelet, save some pennies for the weekend.‘
Such a wonderful shop, full of colours and great smells. Check out the little foodie section at the back. They also have wine in there too.
I really liked the egg section (yes I’m obsessed). You can box your own free range eggs, so you can get as many or as little that you like. It’s a bit of country in the city.
And the omelet? Delicious — the eggs made it!
*I ruin that deluded belief with evenings spent drinking rum and smoking cigars.

They have a great selection of fruit and veg here. And always so fresh.
There is also other random food products to browse, like sauces and oils. An extra thing that you wasn’t on your list, but adds a lot to your meal or snack.
And they had a credit card machine, I was able to buy using my laser card and saved me a trip to the ATM.
But who knew berries were so expensive… well I didn’t. This will give you an idea of how much berry products I buy…

Love this little veggie shop — good quality stock, fair prices and service with a smile, what more can you ask for? The staff are always friendly and polite but they leave you to it to browse aswell which I really like. Hate when staff are all over you in a small shop! Got some beautiful garlic here the other day — it’s nearly a shame to eat it as it looks so pretty!

When I saw whole, gleaming fennel bulbs & small, delectable bottles of truffle oil, my figurative eyebrows raised — items like these, for me, give a grocery store instant street cred.
The shop’s front is small; unassuming, yet the neat rows of plump, ripe, and richly colorful produce are bells-​and-​whistles enough to draw a food or health aficionado through the door. The staff were easygoing, knowledgeable, & pleasant.
Though my experiences here have been quite brief, I look forward to developing a «regular patron» status here.

I like that there’s a fruit and veg shop just across the way from Fresh, where you can buy your 5-​a-​day by weight at a good price rather than by unit at a horrendous markup. They carry a limited but colourful selection of yuppie and hippie (sorry, make that foodie and organic) products, too: small-​production hot sauces, pasta flour, chutneys; hummus and tofu and Moonshine milk. I meant to ask if the produce is organic, too, as it’s not marked either way– but was too distracted by the excitement of getting Moonshine on a weekday! There are a few bottles of wine behind the till and overall it’s a very nice atmosphere and a good place to drop a few quid.

Evergreen is a very nice fruit and veg shop. It is possible to get some other items like wine, bread and cheese. The beauty of it is the size and the opening hours, great to grab few bits and pieces on the way home from work if you you want to cook a nice and teasty dinner.
Damien the owner is very helful and he will do his best to order especial ingredients if he does not have them on display as well as putting orders togethes just for collection (be sure he will select good quality)
by far one of the best shops in Dublin to get your frut an veg.
I’ve been getting many products there in the last 10 years and never had a problem with the service.

If you’re like me and lead a hugely unhealthy lifestyle, the prospect of fruit, veg and any sort of vitamin intake can seem rather daunting. Good thing that Evergreen has perhaps the tastiest fruit and veg in Dublin then eh?
Evergreen always have far fresher stuff than any supermarket and all their fruit is bursting with juice. It’s quite cheap as well. I got a load of stuff there a few days back, all for under a fiver (twelve cent for an onion!)
If your still not convinced you can dive into the world of natural sugar, then don’t worry, they also sell marshmallows.

There are a lot of really great things about Evergreen. Let me list a few:
1. Quality — the fruit and vegetable available at Evergreen is really fresh and excellent. It is really startling to realize what we settle for most of the time when we shop for produce at the grocery store.
2. Convenience — As a regular farmer’s market shopper, I have grown accustomed to really amazing produce. Seeing as that there are no farmer’s market within walking distance of my house, Evergreen fills that void nicely with similar-​quality items.
3. Variety — The availability of hard-​to-​find fruit and vegetables is fantastic.
4. Price — Very reasonable, competive prices for such nice produce.
5. Taste — The best part is that everything tastes awesome!
In addition, when I went in you could get a free bag of potatoes if you spent over 20euros. Being a lover of all things free, it wasn’t hard for me to grab enough produce to satisfy that amount and I walked out of there with some terrific spuds as well!

Note to self: must buy all fruit from fruit shop. Why? Because it’s just so much nicer, fresher and realer (more real!) than supermarket fruit. I don’t even know what season the different fruits grown in because I’m so used to pears from South Africa and plums from Kenya all year around!
In Evergreen, I’ve discovered homegrown fruit and veg (I’ve reduced my carbon footprint) and enjoy far tastier everything! They also have lots of unusual fruits and vegetables that I wish I knew what to do with, along with lovely olives, sundried tomato and extras like dressings etc.

If you like fruit you like Evergreen, the Peoples Church of Fructose. You can buy pretty much any type of fruit or vegetable in here and it’s usually quite well priced. But that’s not the main draw of the place.
You don’t go into Evergreen just to buy oranges, you go in to buy proper big tasty oranges that they don’t sell in the chain stores. You buy oranges that have lived good lives, fulfilled their dreams, matured and achieved a sense of peace and humility before being picked off the tree.
Or at least that’s what I like to think. They’re certainly juicier than the other ones.

Evergreens on Wicklow street is the best fruit, vegetable and wholefoods shop close to the city centre. There’s a wonderful selection and you can purchase nearly everything loose, including beans, nuts, herbs or one of five different kinds of potatoes. Expect higher quality and lower prices than in supermarkets. If like me, you’re into wholefoods and vegetarian cooking, you’ll absolutely love this place.
