I’m writing this review on behalf of my 16 month old who absolutely ADORES this place. She knows exactly where she’s going regardless of what door of the Swan Centre we go in. In her own words«Ella Bada»(I love you). Her words every time she walks in the door. I quite enjoy the place myself, with all sorts of toys and games and puzzles that I wish I could buy for my own inner child and it not seem weird! They have a surprising variety considering space constrictions yet the shop isn’t overrun with crap. It doesn’t overwhelm the senses with colours and big boxes as do most Toystores(cough cough Smyths). Just a nice little toyshop with a friendly air. Rings all the right bells.

There was a really excited boy that walked into Entertoyment at the same time as I did. He left even more excited, with a big action figure under his arm. He took his time to select carefully how to spend his € 10, and for a small toy-store, it really has plenty of choices. It’s not all about plastic army-men. The shop is stuffed with games and puzzles, crayons and water-colours and plenty of knick-knacks that will put a smile on any kid’s face. Also worth mentioning. It’s often hard to find balloons and candles for anyone over 18, but Entertoyment realises that on the big day, we, our parents and even grandparents, do like to be treated like youngsters, so go here for the ornaments.

Entertoyment might not be as grand in scale as the famous Hamley’s, but it’s just perfect for the swan centre. They’ve got a great selection of toys and puzles for kids and it’s definitely worth a look if you don’t feel like trekking out to Dundrum or into town. During the Halloween period they stock costumes, both child and some adult ones. They are lacking in toys of the stuffed variety, but it’s definitely got a lot of little trinkety toys that would distract any child for a few hours!

This is a sweet little toy shop that stocks a lot more puzzles and games than well known brand names. The lady behind the counter is lovely. She went to great trouble to help a customer find the right costume for her little boy and even told her that they could bring it home and if it didn’t fit, they could bring it back. The small section of hen party goodies at the end of the store does strike an incongruous note, however…
