I go here to get my brows done every month. It’s the best place I’ve found in Dublin since I moved back from London last year. I’ve tried a few of their staff and now always go to Poonam as I think she’s best. It’s quite expensive, especially compared to London where there is way more competition. But I’d rather pay a bit more and get what I want. I had one bad experience when the woman who was doing my eyebrows had obviously been smoking beforehand so I had the horrible smell of stale smoke in my face for the duration. Other than that always been really happy and was especially happy when I went in last week to see they had a lovely ‘yes equality’ window display up.

Just an update to say that I went back to get the eyelashes removed — they were really quick, 15 mins and it was done. It absolutely killed though — stung the living daylights outa my eyes — I’d say I resembled an eye-lash-less little piggy leaving there! But the girl was lovely, very gentle, and very professional. Best of all it’s free if you’ve had your lashes done in there. Warning as well: my lashes were definitely a LOT shorter and stumpier after getting the extensions off; though I’m told they should be back to normal within the week.

I started to get eyelash extensions here a few months back, at first I was slightly hesitant as I hate the fake look!!! These are the best in town by far. I am totally hooked. They look so natural just like your have a really good mascara on without the clumps! Check them out ladies but warning you will become OBSESSED!!! Ask for the Mink Lashes, they last about 5 weeks

I go to elysian brows to have my brows threaded. I find that while they are experts at what they do, they’re extremely over priced. 30 euro for the inital visit and 20 thereafter. However, the results are amazing and that keeps me coming back.

I have only used Elysian Brows’ brow threading services, which is their main specialty, so this review is only for that. First of all, this place is expensive. The first consultation is for 30 Euros and the following visits are for 20. However, these people know what they do. I had my brows threaded before and my beautician at Elysian is the most light handed one I have had. In terms of shape, she did exactly what I wanted to do. She also explained me how she’s going to go with the shape according to my preference. So there are no unpleasant surprises. I had my brows shaped really bad in the past but they’ve been shaping back up pretty nicely within this last 1 year that I’ve been going to Elysian. And it’s definitely worth my hard-earned money.

Shaping my eyebrows is more like a deforestation project, so I usually get them waxed and plucked. Worried about the potential damage to the skin above the eye, I decided to try threading for a change. The first consultation at Elysian Brows costs a whopping thirty euro, which is double the price I pay for eyebrow shaping at my usual place but I thought, well at that price they MUST know what they’re doing. And indeed they did. It reminded me a bit of going to the dentist as the chair is very similar to a dentist’s chair, I had to lie back and have a powerful lamp shone in my face, and it’s a decidedly unpleasant experience as the professional works on you. I have a high pain threshold and the threading itself wasn’t that painful but it’s definitely unpleasant. A cotton thread is expertly wrapped around the hairs and with a twanging sound, removes them from the skin by the root. So, like waxing, this is a hair-removal technique gives long-lasting results, but unlike waxing, it doesn’t involve putting chemicals on the skin, and it doesn’t pull at the skin. I had a little bit of redness afterwards but not as bad as the waxing. I found my eyebrow ‘sculptor’ at Elysian Brows to be really perfectionist and professional, she took ages over getting them quite right… but I think they’re ever so slightly overplucked on one side. But they’re ok. Next trip will cost twenty quid if I go back. I just might do that.
