I’m going big here and I am going to say it that Crunch has THEBESTVEGGIEBREAKFAST that I have tried and I have tried a lot! Ok, so why is it so good? Well, I hate baked beans and always have to ask to have them left off a breakfast but here they make their own home-made baked beans in an amazing fresh tomato sauce and they are gorgeous! The toast is on gorgeous fresh brown soda bread, the plate is full to the brim with egg and tomato and mushrooms and their coffee is super good. They do a coffee loyalty card two, by five get one free and the owner is super duper friendly. This place is usually pretty chilled and relaxed not too noisy so a great place to just sit back, eat good fresh food, drink good coffee and read a book or do some work. Next time I go I am going to get loads of photos of that awesome veggie brekkie!

I was here a while ago for a hangover cure. Had a full Irish, and have to ay it was top notch, no cheap ingredients here. There are some nice touches, like the toast is on very tasty odd shaped bread() and the tea is in a large pot. That might seem like nothing but I have getting a teabag in a cup, I’m hungever I need loads of tea! The service was fast and frendly and it came in around € 7ish

Had been dying to try this place out but it was a bit meh when I went earlier today. It just seemed disorganised, there were only about four other customers in the place but service was still slow. I only wanted coffee and a bit of cake! The cakes were all wrapped in clingfilm in the fridge and you kinda served yourself, grabbed what you wanted and brought it to the till. I was given my coffee and my piece of cake was still sitting on the counter, no plate! I asked for it to be warmed and took a seat but my coffee was half drank by the time it arrived. Both were tasty enough and the young girl serving was friendly and helpful but just seemed inexperienced. Probably won’t bother going back, plenty of other cafes in the area that I find a better experience overall.

What a fabulous name for an eatery. I first came across the Crunch Café in first year of college, given that it’s a stones throw away. I’ve always found it very pleasant. It has certainly advanced and improved over the last three years. Having just been in there yesterday after a sabbatical of sorts I was really happy with my meal even if I was sitting right beside the door and it was bloody freezing. Our choice of seating was coerced in a manner of speaking given that it was humming with the lunchtime crowd. What I really appreciate about the Crunch café is the wide range of freshly made and freshly cooked produce. Whether you’re looking for a light salad or something a little more surfeit like homemade lasagna this is the place for you. One thing that cannot be questioned is the quality of the repast. The Crunch café is usually brimming which of course is an excellent sign. It’s quite reasonable also and if I had one key suggestion it would be to try one of the homemade quiches, they’re exquisite. While I’ve only given it three stars, it really deserves three and a half. The staff are wonderful and charming. If I were to have one criticism, it would be the surroundings. They’re minimal… to say the least and all to bland. However this is just a minor issue. Overall a really nice place with some really great fare.

Oh look my photo from my lunch yesterday is the main photo! Well good because the lunch was delicious. I went for the lunch special of butternut squash and fennel it was perfect on a cold rainy day *sigh* why was I conceived and raised in a climate like this — why Mam & Dad — why? I also had the option of two salads. I got the mixed leaves with a light mustard dressing and chickpeas in pesto as the other one — again delicious. That all came to € 6 and the coffee came to € 2.25. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. I love the resident art work that they have up which highlights they support the local art scene. The back of the café has a great rustic feel to it where all the food is cooked. The furniture in the main setting area takes away from that feel which is a pity. It’s just too generic. But I’m just talking ascetics because I’m a bit of a nerd for them. The most important thing is the food and service was terrific.

I have walked by this café many times and finally gave in to my urges and decided to have lunch there with some friends. First off, great location because that’s how I finally decided to try it out, the location gets a lot of foot traffic so great for them. Inside the café is really nice, just a little decoration but overall it has a more clean look about it to me, but still homey at the same time. I got the goat cheese sandwich and my friends got the chicken and pesto baked potato and the club sandwich. We all loved our meals, especially me that sandwich was TASTY! Also, some deals come with sides of all homemade salads which sounded great so im sure they are as good as they sound. All so fresh and tasty and pretty well priced. I will definitely be stopping in there again because now I have my mind set on getting those salads!

I much prefer the side-entrance of this brightly coloured café. Feels like you’re stepping inside the wall, but instead you fall into a wonderland of tables, chairs and pleasant coffee smell. They have some good crunch-deals(for a place in this area at least) like soup + toast for 5.50. Not the best toastie in town, but remember, it comes with a bowl of hot soup to warm the body and soul. And melted cheese sandwiched between toasted bread, who doesn’t love that?

Adding an extra star because any place that plays not one but TWO Neil Young when I’m eating my lunch is the place for me. If Neil Young isn’t to your tastes, the background music is eclectic enough for all tastes, and importantly, not too loud either. The daily fish specials are still delicious. As are the soup and Crunch club sandwich.
