Good God, me thinks this place would be more adequately named«Salmonella Buffet Tramp». Think of the grubbiest McDonald’s you’ve ever shamed yourself in, and then imagine it serving only Chinese food. Of course what we call«Chinese food», THEY wouldn’t feed their dog. Lumpy, viscous MSG sauce. Bland, paint-by-numbers flavouring. Hard chunks of half-cooked meat. Un-friggin-defrosted banana fritters!!! The buffet queues may run long with unconcious Dubs, who couldn’t tell good tasting authentic Chinese cuisine if it drop-kicked them in the face, but I assure you it won’t run half as long as your bowels afterwards.

Dundrum has come a long way in the culinary selection. I was a bit hesitant to come here because I thought it was going to be only fast food. I was very surprised that this is a ‘classy’ all you can eat; the facilities are well kept and clean. The food is very tasty and the selection is worth it too: from hash brown to bbq ribs to salad with 5 different dressing and lets not forget the soups and desserts. Very impressed with the place, I’ll be coming here again.

I’m not sure if I’m happy or sad to see this kind of all-you-can eat place pop up in Dundrum. I suppose, given it’s right near KFC, TGI Friday’s and Eddie Rockets, it sort of fits right in. There is a pretty vast selection of buffet food, from spring rolls to chicken in black bean sauce, and there’s a salad bar with some fresh veg if you feel like you’ve exceeded your sodium and MSG levels for the year, and surprisingly the food all tasted fairly decent and I could distinguish the pork from the chicken(not always doable…) It has the usual buffet problems-some of the meat gets dried out as it sits there, and the noodles get a little clumpy, so be aware of that as you load your plate. I do recommend the hot-and-sour soup, which was excellent on my cold-clogged sinuses, and the salmon was an exception to the dry-fish norm that I’ve found at other buffets, so I had seconds. The prices change depending on when you go, and drinks are extra, but it’s a pretty fair value whenever you’re there. Bottom line: An hour later, I wanted some more…
