Meh. That’s about all I have to say about this place. I’m thinking it might be newer because the wait staff seemed flustered and awkward which was odd considering we were one of three couples in the whole restaurant. I also hope they are new because the chef didn’t seem to know what he/she was doing. There is just better indian food out there so I’d skip this place. The naan we had left much to be desired and the lamb kebab-type dish we got was awful-the lamb had been absolutely murdered, charred beyond recognition, which is such a crime and obviously left it dry as a bone. The chicken dish was good but didn’t make up for the rest of the meal. Disappointing.

We have enjoyed numerous take-away dinners from Chandni and it has become our go-to for Indian. Especially impressed with the spicey dishes, including their own creations, and vegetable dishes. However their dipping sauces disappoint us. Good value for Dublin.

Having been to Chandni quite a few times over the last couple of years I was disappointed when I went for lunch there the other day. I’m not sure if its recently changed hands or some new chefs have come in, but the food just wasn’t what it used to be. Portions were smaller and the lunch choice wasn’t great. The lunch deal used to be 2 courses for 12.50, being able to order anything off the main menu. Last time I had this was maybe a month or two ago and it was great. The new deal is 2 courses for 8.50 but with a much reduced menu. I was happy with the old deal! The staff are friendly and the service is grand, its just the food wasn’t what I expected.

I received a Chandni menu in my mailbox a few months ago, and since that fateful day, they have become my go-to Indian takeaway! My favorite dish is the chicken korma. I also enjoyed the chicken tikka and vegetable jalfrezi. I recommend the peshawari naan, which is stuffed with dried fruit and sweet enough to serve as dessert. Each main dish is accompanied by either rice or naan — so make sure to specify what you want! All orders come with free poppadoms and two dipping sauces. My only gripe is that their delivery estimates are pretty inconsistent. They’ve always said that the food would arrive in 50 minutes, but the actual delivery time has ranged from 30 minutes(great that it’s early — but what if I’d been in the shower?) to 1 hour and 30 minutes(my friends and I almost resorted to cannibalism).

(This is a review for their takeaway sevice.) We ordered takeaway last Sunday night. They said that it would be available for pickup in about 30 minutes. I got there a little early, and was very politely shown to a table with magazines to wait. Our food arrived on time, piping hot and with 2 complimentary soft drinks. The service(even though I just picked it up), was noticeably good. The food itself was fab. The spicy dish was wonderfully so, and the milder dish was very tasty. We’ll be going back — I’m getting hungry just thinking about it :)
