Used to be fantastic and really welcoming, but now lunch menu has got expensive without same chouce. At lunch took 20 mins for chef to prepare(his words) a glass of wine. Then didn’t clear starter plates. And over 50 mins to get main which was not good. Mangeress was very apologetic and seemed to want to compensate but owner was disinterested and dismissive and didn’t want to know. Used to be a regular and we had planned to bring 20 of us there fir evening meal but that won’t be happening now!

I went here for lunch today and I was thoroughly disappointed and wont be EVER going back. It took 50 minutes to get served our mains and about 20 minutes to get a glass of wine. The food was very average and when I complained to the owner he couldn’t have been less interested.

I have today Sunday 22nd November2015 rung restaurant for lunch. They confirmed no problem with table. I advised out of courtesy that I was bringing a small dog. They told me DOGSARENOTWELCOME. Not impressed that they are on the Unilocal site as being in the top 10 dog friendly restaurants. Not impressed with either the restaurant or Unilocal for that matter

Good for brunch colourful plates. I went for a coffee and tiramisu, but I watched very jealous the plates with good looking colours. I have to say that they have the best tiramisu that I have eaten here in Dublin, it was amazing. And the cappuccino was nice as well. I have to come back to have lunch, the pasta looks really tasty.

The best Italian food in Dublin. Specials are distinct, varied and delicious. Great lobster or saffron pasta. Otherwise the basics like carbonara are superior to other Dublin, Italian style restaurants.

An Italian that doesn’t serve pizza? Disappointing to say the least but not the sort of thing that is going to stop a hungry family late on a Friday eve. We wandered in to a quiet restaurant, were quickly seated and presented with menus; it all slowed down a bit after that. It seemed an age before orders were taken(in truth it probably wasn’t, but again, we were hungry), I ordered lasagne, wifey the clam Tagliatelle and junior a fresh tomato and Italian sausage pasta. The pastas were very good, Juniors in particular was very tasty. My lasagne was very heavy, way too much pasta, very thin on sauce and meat. Taste-wise, not bad but the balance was all wrong. I can’t remember the wine we had but the desserts were noteworthy. We shared a tiramisu(huge portion and spectacular) and a chocolate cake(likewise tasty but not a patch on the tiramisu) All in Caffe’ Italiano did what we asked of it, not somewhere I’d yearn to go back to but I wouldn’t avoid it either!

Stopped in on a Saturday night just after 6:00pm and it was rather empty. Ordered a Bruschetta starter that came quickly and tasted great. The main course(pasta) was extremely slow to be served. Once it did arrive, it was beautifully presented. The flavor was bland and was lacking seasoning but the waitress did offer fresh cracked pepper and Parmesan cheese. Overall, average experience.

Wonderful hosts! Everyone greeted you as you walked in and made you feel welcome! This tucked away café isn’t just a café — they have a full menu! The space is decorated with street art style decorations and is quite casual. I had a glass of red wine with my food which included tomato and mozzarella skewers, shrimp skewers, and aubergine and regular bruschetta. I have to say that none of it was exciting or original. There is so much to be done with these starters that they missed out on! I will return for coffee and to see the other space they share with the reggae store! And to try their bigger mains — I really liked the atmosphere and how hidden it was!

This is a little haven for myself and my colleagues, who just work around the corner and go here every other day. It’s gotten to the point now where their friendly staff know us. The very reasonably priced menu is varied and and they always have delish sounding specials. This café hosts the second nicest cannoli I’ve ever eaten in my life, and their cheese salads & soups make a great lunch.

I have been a regular here when it was only selling coffee. I really enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant and the superb food. Genuine Italian experience and great value.

Not sure how to describe it. The staff made us feel weird the moment we stepped in, and the place looked different. They dont serve pizza or soups at dinner! so my friend and i ordered a dessert and a coffee and decided to have dinner somewhere else. But the sweet was good.

One of the best Italians in Dublin, Caffe Italiano ticks all the boxes — the food is excellent and complimented perfectly by both the wine and the service. I shared the mixed cheese and meat platter which is huge, so big in fact I struggled to finish my main. If you’re in Temple Bar and looking for a nice glass of wine and some delicious food, look no further!

So I decided to try this place as I had heard so much about it and I was so happy I did! They have a really cool seating area outside and myself and a friend opted for a € 20 bottle of prosecco to unwind on a Friday after work. The waiters and staff were very chatty and truly entertaining! After we cracked in to the wone, one of the lovely waiters brought us out a plate of food assortments from bruschettas, olive to little salami and cheese rolls. We were truly blown away by this amazing level of service and needless to say I have been back to eat and drink 3 times since then and I have sent a number of friends and colleagues. It really goes to show how a little promotion while you have a customer there through excellent service can really boost a business! Thanks guys!

Best kept secret in town. Proper Italian food. Friendly staff. Delicious. Might be hard to find as the shop front is into a bazaar type shared building. Worth tracking down. Restaurant and wine bar upstairs serves food until 11pm.

First time. Lovely up stairs. Really tasty food and friendly service. Worth a gander, would also be nice for just a glass of wine.

I was there because I’d bought a grabone voucher, and it was for an antipasto platter and 2 glasses of wine. The house wine was really nice(had the red) and the food was very tasty as well, we ended up ordering more than what was included in the voucher. Service was lovely, and the atmosphere was nice too. It was a thursday evening, and it was quiet enough(only 2 other tables busy and we were the only non-italians), Eros Ramazotti playing in the background. It ‘s very relaxed place, I imagine it must be very nice to go for coffee during the day as well. I’ll be going back.

I was a tad put off when we first walked in, thinking the downstairs café was the restaurant itself, but we found our way upstairs and found a lovely little space, overlooking the main floor and with a stage in a somewhat H&S dodgey but lovely for diners spot on a mezzanine facing the dining area. Unfortunately there was no one playing while we ate but there was a classic black and white film playing on the opposite wall by projector which gave the place a very arty atmosphere. Our server was a lovely young lady who beamed at us and seemed to be running around the place from when we arrived to when we left, even though it was only us and one other couple eating at the time! Myself and Tim both had the house wine, he went for the white and I the red, and it was one of the best quality house wines I’ve had in a long time, very flavourful and quite reasonable priced! The same can be said for the mains, nothing on the menu seemed to get over the 10 euro mark and the quality of these simple Italian dishes was jumping out of every bite! Not only will I go again, I can’t wait. This will be my new reasonably priced but lovely and classy recommendation for anyone asking my advice!

The food and service reminds me of my weekend in Rome. Friendly service by a very smiley waitress — she had to read off the specials from a piece of paper(we were the first ones in the restaurant!) but somehow made it feel more casual and homely in a nice way. The food was simple but superbly done and great house wines by the glass. There is also a mezzanine area for a jazz band in the evenings but unfortunately we had to leave for our movie. Oh and prices won’t break the bank either, mains go for under a tenner and a glass of excellent wine only € 5. I will certainly be back again!

Great place in a really vibey location. Authentic Italian food and great coffee. Highly recommend the salads(especially the cured beef) and they do the most amazing cakes too. Ask Luca whats good and you can’t go wrong. Do live music some nights too and serve until 11. Did I mention the cakes? Mmmmmmmm…
