A great butchers and a really great asset to the locality. If you are buying a single piece of meat you are assured of great quality and a fair(but not inexpensive) price. As other reviewers have said, you are paying for quality, farm-to-fork traceability and excellent butchering skills. If you think the latter of these is irrelevant I need only point you to the piece of pork belly that I had expertly prepared the other day(and which really made the most of this relatively inexpensive cut of meat). The friendly service is a bonus. The spotlessly clean establishment is — in a butchers — essential in my view(but regrettably not something that can be taken for granted across the board). Value is really only to be had if you are buying a variety of meats, perhaps some for freezing for later use.

Regular Irish butcher shop. I found it rather expensive than inexpensive. They have plenty of deals once you buy several. As mentioned by other reviewer, they have oil and eggs, which is very handy for locals there, I suppose. My own local butchers are cheaper, but with less options, that’s why they are cheaper.

I’ve been going here for a few years(it’s a related shop — same gang — to the Brady’s in Fairview). It’s absolutely fantastic for meat of all kinds, whether you’re buying prepared(homemade burgers, stuffed pork steaks, chicken), marinaded(they do a few different marinaded meats for either barbeque or stir fry) or just plain meat in all its glory, from hefty T Bones through to fillets of beef or legs of lamb. It’s all local(from their farm), delicious, and delivered to you with a plethora of advice, commentary and gags from both the staff and the always-entertaining queue of people(if you want a slice of real Dublin life, stand in the queue on a Saturday morning and listen to the banter in there). They also do some cracking flavored sausages, and now even sell eggs, oils, marinades and a few other things. Brilliant place.
