If you’re looking for the three quarter fry this is your spot. Lackadaisical service and they’ll forget to bring your mushrooms and beans! Seek your breakfast elsewhere.

This is a pretty cool bar, service is as expected for a bar. They pour an above average Guinness and have a decent variety of food. I went with the fish and chips. I’d give them a 3… Fish was decent, batter was poor, homemade tartar was thick and clumpy, and they put a pea purée on the fish that was just not a good match. Fries were awesome, nice and thick and perfectly cooked. I was torn between a 3 and 4 rating but leaned towards the 4 due to the potential.

Fine food and not a big deal. The service is fast, and the food is a bit better than most standard«pub» fare. Yes, it can be considered«touristy,» but this is a tourist area. Yes there is Irish music but this is Temple Bar, so you better enjoy it, get used to it, or learn to ignore it. They close late so if you want a late dinner or a pint or three… I’d say try it.

Classic Irish pub. Good food — nothing crazy, but it’s tasty and satisfying comfort food. Staff is friendly and the location is great — I would definitely come back when I want good, solid pub fare in a laid back environment.

Close to the hotel. «touristy, touristy, touristy» you say. I am from Cali-fucking-fornia… Not only does that make me a foreigner but a tourist as well! Great place to stop and have a pint.

Pretty good food, average prices for the area. Good traditional live Irish pub music. Great servers/staff. Geared towards tourists.

This was the last decent-looking restaurant on the walk back to our hotel and, though screaming«touristy», we decided to give it a shot. The food looked good, if overpriced, but that was to be expected. The wait staff seemed pleasant until we placed our order, but that’s when things took a turn for the worse. We had to ask five servers for more tartar sauce before we got any. Then, not only did they have the stones to try to charge us for it(which would have been fine if it hadn’t taken 5 attempts and 10 minutes to get), but they charged us for twice as much as they gave us and acted like we were thieves when we tried to correct the mistake. The waiter slammed down the ticket and then refused to be flagged down to take the payment so I had to pay at the bar. With service like that, it’s clear that this place relies on one-time tourist customers, not repeat business.

I was dragged here by a friend of mine, who was over for a few days and had heard that the Blarney Inn did traditional Irish music. Well, they do, that much is true, but if I’d known she only wanted to go here because of the trad session I would have suggested a few nicer places. Having said that, the music was good and the staff in the Blarney Inn were friendly and funny. The place has comfy chairs and maybe it was just the fact that there were very few locals in here, that made me feel a lot like a tourist. It’s not a bad place to go for live traditional Irish music, but it’s just a bit too touristy for my liking.

I had dinner here on 3 occasions while I was in Dublin on a business trip. I thought the food was very good. One night I had the Auld Irish Stew which was very good. Another night I had the Fish & Chips, which were really good and filling. And then on the third visit, I had their steak and then ordered a side of colcannon. The steak was good, but the colcannon was my favorite part of the meal.
