Oh Aldo, why do you look so good on my feet and so bad coming out of my wallet? I love Aldo. Ever changing styles and selection of shoes. Always packed. Always go in saying that I’m not going to buy anything and come out with at least one pair of shoes and leave with two parts buyers remorse. I have to say I love that they have half sizes now for all of the weird feet shapes and sizes in between(and when I say that I mean myself). If only they had a loyalty card… I’d have so many more pair of shoes!

Aldo has been around forever and has done a great job of providing solid, quality and cute shoes that last a long time. I find their boots to be especially compelling, and they have dozens of styles and colors to choose from. I think their heels and flats can leave a bit to be desired, as I find a lot of them kind of ho-hum. Still, it would be a great place to find a sturdy pair you can wear for both work and play. Their men’s shoes are great. They’re both stylish and not too metrosexual so this is a fabulous place for regular joes to get some party shoes of their own.

I’m not buying anything. I’m not buying anything. I’m not buying anything. But I’ll just have a little look on my way by… Twenty minutes later I’m still standing in Aldo wondering what I can buy. Aldo is a great shop just because it’s so cheap and cheerful but also stocks the right things. The shoes and boots are really nice and just the price that you think you can buy them without breaking the bank. Then they have bags and jewellery to match, it’s hard to pass by. Up to the minute fashion, I even felt fashionable just being in there, it’s affordable too. But, I stayed strong. I left with just two flower hair-clips for € 6 each(but you can pin them to your coat too, so it’s totally a deal). Maybe I’ll visit them again after pay day…

I LOVELOVELOVE Aldo and was thrilled when they opened smack bang on the middle of Grafton St. before now, I’ve had to trek out to Dundrum Town Centre, so this central location is a lot more convenient. The shop itself is bright and airy, with women’s shoes on the right, and men’s on the left. Down the back is their fab bag and accessories collection. I think Aldo has some of the best shoes on the high Street — really great fashion at about € 100. The styles are as good as the likes of Bertie and Pied A Terre, but they don’t come with the big Brown Thomas price tag. I also think their jewellery and bags are amazing too. Not only the women’s stuff — the men’s shoes are really good too.
