I love a clever name and i love an interesting logo and this shop has both, i have been smiling at this shop for years now!
I always thought that the name was trying to give some kind of oriental effect to its title, i mean it almost sounds like a Chinese name or something but maybe Brian’s suggestion of text speak before its time makes more sense!
secondly the logo, its a little guy with a top hat and a monocle! he also has a little moustache and the side of his face is outlined by the monocle and it all just fits together so well! i really am ranting on about something quite insignificant but its the thing that has always stood out most to me about this dry cleaners, you know, it works in their favour though, its like a gimmick that ensures this place is always in my memory when it comes to dry cleaning needs!
other than its name and logo this is a fairly standard dry cleaners doing all the usual stuff and all the awkward things like duvets and curtains and scary things like debs dresses!

Lyk Nu Dry Cleaners were established in 1941 and this is very interesting. This means it predates George Orwell’s book ‘1984’ by eight year and SMS, which curiously was invented in 1985, by forty-​four years.
Could this mean that Lyk Nu cleaners invented ‘New Speak’ or ‘Txt Tlk’ before anyone else? Well, probably not, but still it’s worth thinking about.
Lyk Nu can take on any dry cleaning job up to a set of curtains, they do alterations also and can handle delicates and silks.
