Cannot say enough praise for this place! Amazing, tranquil views from the lakeside suite balcony! Michelle at reception was exceptional in her service! I’ve never experienced such genuine and thoughtful caring for our comfort and enjoyment. We’re Hilton vacation club owners and have always enjoyed our experience there, but Hilton ought to study Harvey’s Point! Exceptional!!! The food? Omg!!! To die for! Absolutely gorgeous!

It’s a must go to! Loved it here! Went for a three course meal and it’s always good to book a table a few days before hand. I sat at a wonder seat, which includes looking over the lake, it’s amazing! Food is delish

I can’t do a proper review for this as we only stopped in for a cuppa tea and to check it out and have a stroll along lough Eske. The hotel is 80’s Sheik at its best, but that’s not to say it isn’t glamorous. The décor is all dark woods and plush carpet and there are quirky little features all over. There a place(I think it was called) Isabelle’s corner where all the walls are decorated by artwork by this lady Isabelle. They have an amazing looking wine cave, just off the bar, and the bar itself is awesome. Its Hexagon in shape with one whole wall taken up by an open fire/range. So we had a couple of cups of earl grey teas and sat on the veranda overlooking the lake. I have to say I will be thoroughly looking forward to staying here at some point in the near future.

Terrific hotel and restaurant. Held my daughter’s wedding reception here, and though remote, it is in a beautiful location. HUGE and comfortable rooms. Excellent staff. Fantastic food and wedding planning. They handled dietary restrictions(vegan, coeliac) beautifully. Highly recommend!!!

Nestled right on the shore of the gorgeous Lough Eske, Harvey’s Point Hotel is a visit to a slower, more relaxed and welcoming world. The Pluses: We stay four nights in a Deluxe room, which is easily the largest suite I have every stayed in. The King bed was very comfortable. The wardrobe area was spacious and provided more than enough room for our clothing. And bathroom was very well appointed, with both a shower and a very large whirlpool bath for two. Do not be taken aback by the local water. Though slightly brown in color, it was fine for drinking and was amazingly soft for skin and hair. There is a well-stocked mini bar along with complimentary tea/coffee, fruit and cookies. We especially appreciated the french press coffee carafe! There is also complimentary bottled water for those who prefer not to drink from the tap. The property is amazingly beautiful and has the warmth and class of a county manor. We spent one rainy afternoon in the communal Reading Room looking out over the lough, sitting in comfortable leather furniture with our books, tea and whiskey. A second day was spent hiking around Louch Eske enjoying the gorgeous views of the lough, hills, and sheep fields of Donegal. The beautiful bar with deep leather chairs and a peat-burning fireplace was a wonderful spot to chat about our day in the evenings. The staff at Harvey’s was unfailingly cordial, friendly and welcoming. They assisted us in hiring a local driver for a day of touring, laundered some clothing which was returned quickly and in excellent condition, and were always happy to see to our comfort. Areas to Improve: In the otherwise amazing bathroom, the lack of an electrical outlet near a mirror was a bit of an annoyance. The vanity has shaver outlets, but there was no place to plug in a curling iron for my hair. The dining at Harvey’s was an interesting mix of wonderful flavors from well prepared food presented in an overly fussy and dated manner. The over use of foams, sauce-dotted plates and unidentifiable garnishes was a distraction from the very satisfying flavors. We found the more casually presented breakfasts and lunch menus to be more visually pleasing then the dinner menu. We reserved a table at for the Cabaret Night, a weekly dinner/cabaret show that draws locals and tour groups as well as guests at the hotel. The buffet dinner was excellent and the staff service during it was outstanding. Unfortunately our enjoyment of the evening was derailed by two issues. We were informed during the show that the big draw of the evening(and the primary reason we came to the Cabaret) SephirA was not performing that night. Finding out that way right in the middle of the evening was very disappointing and left us feeling as if we had been mislead. We undoubtedly would have still attended if we had been informed of the replacement act before time, so the unpleasant surprise seemed unnecessary. Also, parts of the audience were less then well-mannered. There were two tables around ours where the guests were talking loudly through out the performance without any awareness of their rudeness. We left early as they continued to get louder. Having said that, we would return to Harvey’s in a heart beat. The experience of the hotel itself … the smell of peat burning in fireplaces, the peaceful serenity of the property, the comfort and luxury of the rooms … are not to be missed.

If you have a specific dietary requirement, i’d say stay in your car and keep on driving because you won’t find much sustenance here. I came here as a vegetarian, the soup used chicken stock(the waitress had to go into the kitchen to find this out), and I was offered a stir fry which turned out to be an unpalatable undercooked mess of sticky rice, grated carrots and sliced onions drenched in a sickly sweet sauce. I managed three forkfuls. The management were«kind» enough to charge me for a children’s portion even though it was clearly indigestible. Hotels need to modernise and consider a larger customer base than they’ve been used to in the past.

This was an amazing dinner. Was prix fix for 59 euro for four courses. First served an amuse busche and then I had seared scallops in a white chocolate dUce with. Coconut foam. Sounds odd but wAs delicous. Followed by a lemon lime sorbet with baked pineapple and diced cucumber. Main course was beef filet with mushrooms and sides of polenta, brocolli and mashed potatoes. I chose the cheese course for dinner and it was delicous. Waiter told us that the chef had just returned from a competition for best restaurant hotel in Dublin and they had come in 2nd! Our room was also the deluxe size and was huge! Bedding is a bit tired but the view of the lake is wonderful

Beautiful Hotel just outside Donegal. Pet friendly. Stayed in a deluxe room which was MASSIVE! Jacuzzi in bathroom. Staff friendly. Relaxing atmosphere. On a down side the bar food although tasty was very sparce on the size of the portions. Asked for traditional fish and chips. Fish was barely bigger than a fish finger. One other negative would be that I believe it is overpriced.
