Good sense of community here. Prices subject to change. Can be interpreted as overpriced but a personal favourite amongst a village full of coffee shops. Nice owner/manager.

Cute little café at the end of Dalkey village. Very friendly staff and nice coffee. Haven’t had much of their food other than the odd scone or croissant, but what I’ve had was tasty. They used to have a massive bed sized sofa upstairs that you could sprawl across but unfortunately that’s gone. There are a ton of coffee shops in Dalkey but this is one of the best so make sure to check it out!

Mugs has been around for years in Dalkey, a handy meeting spot and good for grabbing coffee on the run. Tipping the scales on price though, perhaps it’s the neighbourhood that helps this but the are other places around that give the same for less.

We had a long bike ride during the whole afternoon so when I saw this place, which looked so cosy from outside, we stopped and had a break here. The staff was very welcoming, they explained me all the cakes they have and they actually even had a few gluten free option which I really appreciated. We took a capuccino — pretty good -, and a red berry tea — alright, not the best I had but it was good-, we also took a carrot cake to share — very good !!-. The wifi was good and we had the table right next to the window so it was very luminous, we really enjoyed our break there and regretted it was so far from home because this is definitely the place I would have liked near home. Only four stars though because it was a little bit busy, a lot of kids were coming back from school and sitting there, so at some point it wasn’t that quiet anymore.

I’ve had better vending machine coffee! For some strange reason Mugs, the only dedicated coffee shop in Dalkey sells the worst tasting coffee in the village! I thought it was me at first after reading other reviews but no! By coffee standards they are well below par! Disappointing to say the least! This place is probably OK if your not particularly interested in enjoying a good coffee!

One of the best cappuccinos I’ve had was made here. Their breakfast/lunch sandwiches are superb. If I lived in Dalkey, I would be going here frequently. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I love mugs! It’s at the end of the Main Street in Dalkey and is a perfect little spot for a coffee! It also has teas, hot chocolates or scones and cookies or any pastry you can really think a café would sell! It’s really nice and cosy inside and upstairs it has a small little lounge area at the back! A really nice setting! Definitely worth a pop Into if your in Dalkey! Price is nice and cheap too !

A nice little spot for a coffee! This cosy coffee shop is a lovely place to visit if you want somewhere to have a chat with a friend or a quiet coffee alone. I tried the cinnamon swirl too which was a tasty warm treat. :)

Ah what a place to spend an hour on a cold winters day in Dalkey! Free Wifi, super comfy seats, warm fire and quality coffee just makes this place perfect! You always end up getting two or three. And the pastries are amazing! You literally don’t want to leave this place. If you’re meeting anyone in Dalkey for a coffee then this has to be the place to go! You won’t look back. They also have plenty of seating upstairs and they don’t mind you staying for long periods of time.

A brilliant place to get a good cup of coffee and a pastry while wanted to relax with your laptop and take advantage of the free wifi all day long It’s a family friendly place, so if sipping coffee around kids isn’t your thing, give it a miss, but I find popping in your headphones does the trick. And, in general, the parents that hang out there with the little ones try to control their offspring. A big downer, however, is the incredibly slow service. I don’t think I have ever been there and fully served within 10 minutes. It seems when you ask for a toasted bagel and some tea, they had to let the bread rise and pick the leaves before being able to bring your food to the table. The same cast of characters have been working their for ages, they just haven’t gotten any faster at doing their job. This could and should be worked on. The owner is an aged surfer, which is sort of sweet. The children have interesting, surf-type names and it seems the family is very friendly with people who are very regularly stopping by, which is nice to see. Overall, a good place for a cup of coffee in Dalkey.
