Murphs Bistro

Its a nice cosy place that I would go to again soon. I got the steak burger and chips and it was 10 out of 10. For desert I had the lemon cheesecake but I also had a nibble of the amazing crème Brûlée with raspberry.

So I was here on Sunday last (Mother’s Day) and was fortunate enough to get a table for myself and my mum! From the outset very friendly staff between the few minutes wait at the bar to being shown to out table once it came available. Very good decent and welcoming Cavan hospitality! I hear that they are approx a year in business and well one thing for sure is that they’ll be plenty more years!
I remember coming here when I was pretty young 15yrs ago on a few occasions and I always remembered the vintage look and feel of the place, they’ve managed to keep that in the old bar and my only pity is the extension at the back, not very old looking and doesn’t tie in very well with the old part but overall I had a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend a trip to it!
On the menu side there was quite a good range from kangaroo (yes I know!!), rabbit, steak, pasta, fish I could go on. there was everything from special occasion food to comfort food and at a reasonable price!
If you’re down this neck of the woods (N3) the whole way from Dublin id recommend giving it a try! If not least for the kangaroo. I’m intrigued as to what it tastes like!

Don’t know where that person was; food was like a homemade dinner & staff extremley friendly the derragarra Inn is set on a view of the annalee river & the Clancys hav’nt owned it in over 18 years so get with the times
